Well done! You found a good level between the music and Rossen talking. The segues are shorter and less distracting. One potential downside of using front serrations is to get some of the meat in the ejection port and some have the serrations quite close to the muzzle. The upside of gripping in front is not moving the hand backwards over the other, the motion ends near re-establishing the grip. Only thing missing is the classes and upcoming dates.

New sub man.. GREAT info.. Older dude w/ low arm strength , so the friction will not work w/out moderate pain.. I use the front of slide w/ thumb and 1st and middle fingers to pull back while pushing forward on grip..Can get rounds out in 2.1sec.. It's my best way.. Adapt and options.. AND the comment , " move your position for a way less target" YOU a great teacher.

Great topic. I run the CZ P07 and P09 as well and prefer using the slide stop to release the slide. It is nice and big and in the perfect location to use with the support hand thumb.

being a user of the 1911 I use the slide-lock press to release the slide but when using other release method I prefer the slingshot method than the palm to release the slide just like it is done in the "Israeli Draw."

I use to use the slingshot method in IPSC all day, every day on a slide lock. It just felt fast and right. Looks cool too ;) 9 years later... using my Mantis X... I found out real fast that its not fast at all. I'm much quicker getting my grip and using the slide lock with my thumb.
@TacticalPerformanceCenter2 жыл бұрын
Not many times do we go to the slide-lock in the IPSC match unless something goes wrong with the stage planning. If the start procedure is without a round in the chamber, it makes sense! That's where it is most applicable in practical shooting sports. IDPA is a different story. We agree with that.
@chadfontaine27172 жыл бұрын
@@TacticalPerformanceCenter haha ya. I should have clarified.. slide lock due to my stage math going out the window due to partially full mags, dud rounds and basically my own poor planning ;) I always slingshot or palm the first round into the chamber if the stage start is loaded :)

Over-grip ftw! Another great video. Wish the p-07 and p-09 were on the roster here in Cali. They are such good duty-guns. Rossen's guns seem to shoot flatter than anyone else's too haha.

Good informational video, but a lot of the comments seem to confuse "Emergency Reload" with "Competition Reload." An “Emergency Reload” assumes a real-world, high stress situation, and not competition or range practice/training. Your stress and adrenaline levels will be through the roof, your fine motor skills will be virtually non-existent, and your hands will turn into oven mitts with thumbs. You will not debate with yourself which reloading/slide manipulation technique to use. You will do (or attempt to do) EXACTLY what you always do at the range, without giving it a thought. Only one of the techniques shown in this video is realistic when your hands are basically oven mitts. If you expect to ever be in such an emergency situation, maybe you should practice the ‘over-grip” technique until it is muscle memory. If you do not expect to ever need it, then why do you carry and train? Just my opinion.

We should say pick up a technique that is the best for you and stick with it until it becomes a subconscious skill. The goal of the video is to show the pros and cons of the different techniques and that there is no universal one. We are individuals who have different coordination, strength, etc.

@TacticalPerformanceCenter10 ай бұрын
You have two options: 1) to manipulate the slide catch lever with the index or middle finger of your support (control) hand (if you are lefty that means the right hand) which with some guns can be challenging; or 2) to manipulate the slide manually, using the slingshot or over grip method.
