so how do you come to 13 pound what about the 99 pound dies,
@Metal_shaper_tom Жыл бұрын
Well I know my maths is terrible but the whole point of the video was to show how to turn that £13 tool into a metal shrinker. If you already have the dies like I do on my shrinker as in the video it won’t cost you anymore. If you don’t then you can by them ones to make it. Thanks for watching 👍

Nice welds personally I would have used a stainless rod considering the composition of the material of the blades looking as if they are of a high chrome composition. Brilliant results looks good.
@Metal_shaper_tom Жыл бұрын
Did consider stainless but it is cheap Chinese metal so not that great quality. Once I’d tacked the bits in place and the tacks hadn’t shrunk/cracked that was good enough for me to continue using the mild wire.
@21gioni Жыл бұрын
@@Metal_shaper_tom nether the less you did produce wonderful product. You should however reinforce the area where you have the bolt. That would be better to have a longer thread and the reinforcement to prevent bending while in use.

Come on Steve that’s like saying let’s wheel up this panel it’s really easy all you need is this 10k English wheel to start . Like I’ve said in other comments. It’s about turning a £13 pound tool that would cost normally £500 plus . You can use your existing shrinking dies or you can buy these ones for £99 from stakesy’s. The price of the welder is irrelevant as I’ve just brought one for £200 that would do what I just done in this video. Thanks for the comment though 👍

Definitely the new math thing. So as you would know from watching it I’d already purchased the new replacement set a few week before as I’d already been using them then I decided to make the video. Then at the end of the video I state if you have a foot operated shrinker then you can use the dies from there to make it. The whole point of the video is to show using a cheap set of bolt cutters you can make a shrinking tool. I’m Assuming you do metal work then you would know that shrinking dies aren’t cheap?
