I was in the t-shirt printing for a few years, one thing I learned that dye ink washes out real fast from the shirt, so I started to use direct to garment ink, however it cost a lot more than dye ink.

Yeah the best way to get the most vibrant colors is to start with a dry cotton shirt. I don't care for presoaking. I made three tie-dyed shirts about 5 years ago, one presoaked and two dry. The presoaked shirt is ready for the trash bin, but the others are still vibrant enough to wear in public. With the dry method, it's helpful to rub in the dye with a gloved hand to conserve as much as possible.

imo some of these did not turn out that great, but I can definitely see the potential of then to be really good if a bit more time had been taken to spread the dye more or soak a bit longer, other ones turned out amazing, my favorite one being the V pattern and the cats!

I'm doing for a class project and I have never tie-dye before.. Did you just use water to pre-soak the t shirt first. Also after all the t shirts are dried can I wash them all together with out them breeding on to the other shirts or do it rise them out before I wash them.

I would rinse them out before you wash them and probably wash them by themselves just use very little water and yes it is better to somewhat pre-soak it
