Handle for Sony FDR- X3000 4K Action camera

This came in handy for setting up mine! I use a Manfrotto Pixi mini tripod as a handle (so I can use it on a table without taking it apart, and it has a built in ball head) and a Rode Video Micro with an aftermarket audio cable (the Rode red coiled one will create sound issues together with the FDR-x3000's WiFi). I modified a much smaller aluminum bar from a SmallRig accessory with threaded holes for any adaptor I may need now or later.

@@EltonNoway Those are Hot shoe mounts. You can just 1/4" mount the mic into that. A mic isn't a hotshoe compatible device

I have a similar setup for mine however I run the cam a mic front and back if you know what I mean, hold pistol grip in hand, place the bracket on so it points away from you like the barrel of a gun, Place the Sony 3000 on the front and the mic (I use a Rode video mini) behind the cam this makes thin rather than wide I guess it is a personal choice I have tried it your way and then my way and I find on mine it balances better.

It is supposed the best indeed :( I have no other fast card. I have contacted Sony and the reply is that ScanDisk is not compatible - what is not true I suppose .. I have the Sandisk microSDXC EXTREME PRO 128GB 100MB/s .. it should do. The settings should be fine.. there is some kind of "noise" or jumping image.. I will try to upload a video tomorrow. Tks for your help sir.

What settings do you use for low light? I just bought the camera and anything short of a sunny day looks horrible. I’ve either got the wrong settings or I’m transferring the video wrong. Thank you for any advice you can offer

The Sony as well as all other action cameras are horrible in low light as the image sensor is just too small to allow enough light in plus no adjustable ISO settings. These action type cameras are meant for outdoors.

Hi. Thanks for the upload. Regarding the mic, I heard other external mics for this cam pick up some sort of static noise - perhaps from the bluetooth or WiFi signals. Have you had any issues with the K&F mic you use?

Orquidea Real Photobook Design : I have not tried a gimbal with this camera as it’s built in stabilization is really good, plus I only think there is only one gimbal that will work with this camera and it’s too pricey for me.
