The undercarriage was not retractable. It was fixed. Interestingly it had only a battery for electrical power and fuel for about 15 min which made getting it shown to the Farnborough air show a tricky flight. I think I remember that it had balsa wood wing leading edges that could be varied.

I suppose it wasn't needed since they were testing low speed handling where drag wasn't an issue?
