Handmade Artisan Leather Snap-On Watch Band Tutorial With Pattern (HD) by Fischer Workshops
Download Pattern at: www.fischerwor...
This Printable PDF pattern comes with 2 printable PDF files. One 5 page file for the watch pattern that includes an additional pattern for my concho wrist bracelet and another 16-page booklet highlighting essential tools, products, hardware, prices, leather weight guide, and other helpful hints and guides for this project and more. Find additional details on the project's construction by watching my free online tutorial. This unique watchband was inspired as a graduation gift for my son. It combines a lot of classic leather artisan features and classic hand tooled basket weave design. The rounded shape gives it a very comfortable and secure fit with a very original and luxurious look and feel. This watch band can fit almost all watch face sizes and the pattern includes adjustable snap straps for different wrist sizes.

Very cool. It took me a minute to figure out why you didnt punch the inner and outer layers at the same time until it dawned on the the curve would effect the spacing. Thank you for sharing.

😅, Actually I have one, but it's not strong enough for such a tiny basket weave...

I like everything, but let me make a couple of little tips: 1. make a hole in the top layer so that the watch is a little bit sunk into the skin. so it will look better and sit on the hand. 2. make the strap asymmetrical so that the buttons do not lie on the table when you work on the computer. otherwise, it will be annoying. It would also be cool if the inner side of the strap would not be flat, but with some kind of cuts or ornaments to improve ventilation and blood flow.

I like the overall concept and workmanship but the watch head in me would prefer some tiny perforations within the basket weave. With that much leather on my wrist I would want some aeration like a dive watch band. By the way excellent production quality on your video unlike all the other band making tutorials with NO narration.

It looks cool. Wearing it for extented time might be irritating because of the size and the weight. Certainly on a hot day transpiration would be an issue. Also, I don't trust the locking system.

It looks very good but I don't think it feels good while wearing it because its very thick and hard.

hello, I'm beginner on leather crafts and I have a few question, is the locking method robust and secure? how does it perform over time
@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan
@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is. I've been using this band for 3 years and still works like new. Use a quality snap to ensure good use.

nice skills, nice job, . but i see two points: 1/ it's not adjustable, it's a strap for one specific watch. it's a lot of work for single watch. what if one day you break it , and want to put the strap on another one? 2/ i definitively dont trust the lock system ( which is not adjustable either), there is a big chance to loose the watch one day, i can bet on that.

Are you taking a picture of every stamp??
@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan

😅, probably looks like I am. No, because the stamp is so small I'm using the LED light 📱on my phone to make sure the stamp is lined up perfectly. 👌

Hi thanks a lot for your excellent tutorials! I got hold of a nice ostrich leather. What do you suggest about finishing the edges? Do they burnish?
@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan
@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan 4 жыл бұрын
I don't work much with ostrich, but since it's a soft leather I'd assume you need to use an edge paint rather than burnish.

Mr. Fischer I was watching one of your videos the other day and you used some glue you called contact cement and it was in a push up stick. I would like to buy this glue but cannot find it anywhere in a push up stick. Can you tell me where you buy it? BTW I really enjoy your channel.
@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan

Should be available through Amazon or Ebay. The company is called Uhu (contact cement stick)

One of the challenges of working with a really small basket weave is keeping it lined up nicely. So I like to spot check before I make each impression with a bright light.😊

Man i hate when people tie a knott at the end of their stitch. The proper way is a back stitch then melt the ends. The guy at weaver doest that to, drives me nuts to see those big knotts. The band came out nice though
@malcolmthompson7545
@malcolmthompson7545 4 жыл бұрын
Joshua Poche if you use linen thread then tie a knot. If it is a poly or nylon then burn.
@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan
@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan 4 жыл бұрын
This is a linen thread, so it can't be burned. Backstitching should still work if you prefer.
