The guitar prices you mentioned are so high on this street. I wonder if Vietnam has any big guitar factories like China?

Not sure, this is pretty much the epicenter of locally made guitars in HCMC; they do have their workshops elsewhere, mostly tho

Thank you very much! I'll be in Saigon in 2 weeks. Definitely will visit this area, especially Duy Ngoc Guitar cause I heard he has excellent quality instruments. Will look at his Ukulele for sure. When the guy tried to say spruce, but he could not say it well.

Decorating the back of the guitar is probably questionable. But every guitar has a customer coming for it. Nice performance by the way

Indian rose wood i heard about. Maybe tags on the guitars will help some buyers to read the wood types used on the guitar? The sales people seem to know the woods, but who really knows if they are getting it right?

Tags is a good idea; next time I'm in Saigon, will pass on the suggestion

I don't recall now, but all the guitar shops in that district are on the same street or nearby streets

I wanted to originally travel to thailand until I found out about this place! I'm obsessed with guitars & never knew this existed. Yeah, I'm going here instead!

I went there and had my 12 string restored by Dai Vet. He did a brilliant job for $120!

I went there a couple of years ago. Many shops on the street, and guitars were awesome. However, most of the shop did not have delivery options - I have to manage it myself. I was in the middle of my trip, so I did not want to carry the guitar, or spend time figuring out how to ship the guitar.

I will check out Luthier's Street on our next visit or when we retire there, I play. My wife (who is Vietnamese) says to bring a translator next time or Google Translate. He does not understand a word! Lol Note: Easy way to remember - "Wassup Sut". :-)
