My wonderful Grandmother immigrated, with her family, from Hungary to the US in 1914. Her father was a baker and her sisters and brother were all excellent bakers. Unfortunately, Gram had little talent for baking. She did have one incredible recipe and that was a poppy seed roll. She had a tiny meat type grinder that would make a nice poppy paste. Sooo good! We all called it her coffee grounds strussel. It was a family favorite. She even sent some to me when I was deployed aboard USS Nimitz in 1980. My shipmates kept pestering me to ask for more to be sent to us.

Привет из России! У этой мельницы для мака крепление к столу как у мясорубки СССР. Сначала думала, что же это за машина, деталей не хватало🤔 А когда увидела чашечку примерно догадалась, и Вероника проводит демонстрацию все понятно. Восхищаюсь Вашим умением работать с разными материалами! Особенно мне нравится когда рисунок дерева проявляется под маслом, я сама использую льняное натуральное. Здоровья Вам и успехов в труде!

Wonderful restoration. That hopper is a work of art - I think many restorers would have found an old tin funnel and called it a day - but not THIS master craftsman. Though I did notice something - that your shop tools show some rust and lack of maintenance! Is this a case of the Shoemaker;s children not having any shoes??? LOL PS The subtitles are a nice innovation - I hope you can continue.

I basically live one country over and don't recognise most of the stuff he dredges up from some barn or cellar! Most of these tools have been extinct for the better part of a century or are specific to a very narrow professional field. I did grow up with a mechanical poppy seed grinder that my parents bought new in the early 90s but it's a completely different design using a kind of spiral mechanism rather than two rollers.

Beautiful work as always Radek and Veronika. A beautiful piece and I’ve learned how to straighten a bent screw. Love your wood lathe work too. I’ve just finished a wood job on my metal lathe. Great finish but hours of cleaning to remove all the abrasive wood dust.

I don't think poppies are commercially farmed in England but we can buy rolls that are sprinkled with poppy seeds. It was a wonderful restoration Radek, I am always surprised by the range of your skills. It was nice to see Veronica too. I remembered to turn on English subtitles before your video started so I could understand what Veronica said at the end, but you've added your own English subtitles now so I had them in stereo! I hope you and your family stay safe from Putin; we have stormy weather here at the moment, there are large trees being blown down all over the south.
