I have made two of these and love them so much (they are great for cleaning my eye glasses!!) that I am making more of these.

I just, today, bought a couple of yards of double gauze and can't wait to get started making some things. I love this idea of making useful items with some pretty to look at sashiko!! Thank you, thank you for sharing this.

Today I am making this and found that holding the needle was the more difficult part, but I am finally getting it!!! My stitches look better and I feel I can become more confident with time. This sure is very gratifying.

I’ve been thinking about doing a video of how to hold a needle but I’m not very confident of how I hold it either. I’m still learning it too. Some professional people have amazing skills of Unshin (a running stitch in the Sashiko style). I think you can find some videos of those people on KZbin in English.

I love these, thanks for sharing such a comprehensive tutorial. I have made a few hanafukin in the past, and always carry one in my bag to dry my hands. The more they are washed, the better they get!

Hi, I made this. I had never heard of double gauze fabric but our fabric store carried it. It turned out well - super absorbent. I'm planning on making some more and some kitchen towels. I'll stick to easy stitch patterns - I'm afraid that if the stitching is too elaborate, I'll hesitate to use these because they are too nice. 🙂

Thank you. It's so nice to hear that you have tried it! I also love the simple stitches. Happy stitching!

Another neat project! Thank you so much for posting these videos. The close-ups are very helpful. Another good source for sashiko supplies (if your local shops don't carry them) are Amazon and Etsy.

What needles do you use?
@thegreenwrapper2 күн бұрын
This type of fabric is loosely woven and relatively easy to stitch through. So I think you can use most needles😊💕💕
