Today I'll be showing you a little bit of how I made this haunted house inspired by the Spadena house (AKA the Witch's House) in Beverly Hills, using polymer clay and recycled materials.

Haha that's so funny! No I'm not gone from KZbin, and if I were to decide to leave, I would of course let you know. I know it's been a bit quiet here, but projects like this take time to make. Moreover, I go through periods where I'm not sure what kind of content I want to share on KZbin and in that case I rather stick to focusing on my work and forget about the camera above my head. Aaaaand...I'm also working on other important projects that take up a lot of my time. And then of course, I'm just human and I need to cook, clean and look after a boyfriend and rabbit! tut!

So cute! I, too, have a huge plastic bin of jars I have saved. Also, wooden boxes and the like that I can also cover. Well here in America, thanksgiving holiday has just come to an end and the Christmas holidays have begun. I just finished decorating my Christmas tree and now I think it’s time to rewatch last years 12 days of Christmas videos you made us last year!

I've had the same issue with the paint and then baking it, it becomes sticky, but not always. I use different brands so now I'm watching to see if that's a factor. Loved this Witches House! Love all your houses! They inspire me! I just wish on this one you had shown more of how you did the shutters, etc. You seemed to have skipped over some of the work you did whereas in the past you've shown each step. But still I love your work and your videos! You are the best at teaching in your videos!

Yes, sometimes the acrylic paint can feel a little tacky, but I found that goes away by applying some glaze (water based). Try to stick to FIMO or Sculpey glazes because they're designed for polymer clay, unless you've tried one that works of course ;)

Thank you, I'll try that. Though I like the matte finish, maybe it comes in matte. I have found that American acrylic by DecoArt doesn't seem to get tacky.

Do you ever bake newly added sections of clay even after other areas have been painted? If so what kind of paint do you use? I had a situation where I ended up re-baking a piece & the areas that were painted became tacky using acrylic paint.

Yes, you can keep on sculpting on areas that you painted. I did that in my pumpkin video. Is normal for the acrylic paint to go tacky sometimes. It goes away by applying a coat of varnish at the end. Only use acrylic or water based paints and varnishes on baked polymer clay. :)

Nice video as always, but the flickry bits drove me crazy and gave me a headache. Flickering light can cause some people to have seizures, so l would avoid it if I were you.

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you mean if it can be used with a candle then the answer is no, as I stated in the description, only use an LED tealight. If you are asking if the jar can be baked with the clay then yes. I've never had a problem. More info on how I do it in the description.
