This is one of those transitional seasons I’m expecting big things for season 6. Last night’s episode was good to me. I’m glad June finally expressed her anger that she fought and Luke didn’t but June has to except for years he didn’t know she was alive. Anyway I love the show

I enjoy this show and I think the acting is superb. This plot is not so unrealistic compared to the times we are living today. A women’s choice should be between she and her doctor. I will continue to watch and for those who so heavily criticize, film and production schools are waiting for your enrollment.

The handmaid’s tale was always going to tank as a show because it couldn’t resist political feminist alarmist proselytising claiming that the sky is falling and men just want to impregnate women. But the same women spend all their time on the internet screaming men don’t want to date them, whilst claiming that a show like this is close to their reality. Really, it’s a cover for sex without consequences whilst pretending that’s the same as forced sex in a novel. The lack of blushing at the incredible hyperbole is almost admirable

I think parts of season 3 and 4 had bad writting and I wish they would do a lot more world building so we could see what the rest of the world thinks of the Holy Republic. That said, season 5 I think has got its wind back in its sails (although the hit by car scene in the last episode was cheezy as heck, the end with Luke turning himself in to save June totally made up for it). Serena getting a redemption arc is great and next season I want to see a truth and reconciliation type arc like what happened after the genocide in Rwanda as a model of a way forward. I also hope we find out that Luke and June were paranoid about the Canadian's and Luke gets off with a slap on the wrist and joins them in Hawaii a few months later and they find a bit of peice by black mailing Lawrence into opening the door for Hannah get into aunt training once she is scheduled for being "maried", so bitter sweet but realistic and a good place to end it for the Testimates. They might not get her back, but at least know she will have a better shot at a future and can focus on giving Nicole a great childhood.

Lol I couldn't stand that ultra cringe scene with Luke and the organ at the bowling alley. When you start to make your characters sing in such a trite and sappy way, ppl like myself check out.

This series gets praise for its cinematography. Rightly so in certain scenes. However, after 5 seasons of desaturated color and every scene being too dark, I am giving up on the show. I have a lot of time invested in this series. I will just read the episode summaries when season six comes out. I realize the directors are trying to create a certain atmosphere of a dystopian society. But really, broad daylight scenes with hardly any color and dark? Very few indoor shots are viewable. To me, I am struggling to see detail in scenes and I can’t concentrate on the story. This is not a technical issue with my TVs. Other programs are perfect. The appropriate atmosphere can be created without overdoing it. I realize my views are in the minority. So be it. I am tired of getting eye strain.

It's bad. I went from rating the show 10/10 after season1 to 3/10 overall score. It's so bad. I'm only watching, because I've been invested in the show, want to see how it ends, but it's absolutely horrible, boring, badly written and June as a character is just annoying.

I agree the propaganda about America and this religious nonsense is turning my stomach. How on earth do they think that thinking, women could still be religious after being raped, beaten, murdered would still embrace the religion that did that to them. It just wouldn't happen and it is obvious that June in the book was an atheist so that makes me mad as well.

I'm actually enjoying Serena Joy's storyline way more then June's. Serena Joy's actually going through some real character growth this season. I feel like June's character has been the same the past couple of seasons. I want to see more character growth. Then commander Lawrence character is looking like he's going to marry commander Putnams wife next episode. Which if so that's going to be rather shocking just because Serena Joy pretty much asked him if they basically could and he literally shot her down immediately. Oh... yea u did think that episode Serena gave birth June and her seem to get closer. Even though that was beyond drug out. Unfortunately I feel like most of these episodes this season are just full of fillers. So much is dragged out that it takes up the whole episode. There's unfortunately only been just a few episodes that I've actually liked this season. Now next episode is the last one of this season? Just a extreme let down especially having to wait basically a whole another year for the next season.
