Dear david. It's realy great what you are doing and giving your knowledge to us starting hangpan players. I am a drummer the last 35 years and guitar player. Blues and rock. But since a few year I have tryed to expand my music knowledge with sounds like the hangpan. It's beautyful what your doing and a great method to learn. Thank you for that let's keep in touch and please stay giving these lessons. Kind regards Jochem Stulen Netherlands

David Charrier, this is a brilliant idea you have here for teaching how to play the handpan, for giving encouragement to someone like me, who just two evenings ago became aware of this fascinating musical instrument that crosses boundaries from percussion into piano (I guess in a sense piano, organs, keyboards, etc, are somewhat percussion, too, by using principles of percussion?) & strings, get the sounds & rhythms out of it that persons such as Kate Stone, Anastasia, & you are able to get out of it. This is one more instrument for using in a Psalm 150 concept. My initial desire to learn more about the Saz as I've seen played by one of the members of the Israeli band Miqedem has sure lead me to finding out about instruments that I've only heard the sounds but had not seen, some I had seen & heard played but still wasn't greatly familiar with (e.g. didgeridoo, etc), & then some I had never seen or heard before (e.g. the handpan, or, as some call it, by what I have heard is misnomer, hang drum, albeit the sound reminds me of Trinidadian steel drums). How have the lessons & the responses of your students been going, by the way? I notice this video was apparently uploaded in 2016, so you would have started this quite a few years ago now. I would imagine you have guide many interested along to being successful hand pan players by now, for the ideas you've implemented to make the course more visual is truly a blessing. May the Creator of the Universe envelop you in His salvific light & you let said light flood into you soul. 🙏🏼

Hi, I am picking up a Reekoi handpan this week. I am a healer and will use it as sound healing tool. I am a MSW child/family trauma specialist. I got breast cancer and wasn't expected to survive. I lost everything to cancer. I was in private practice so the first thing to go is insurance, so until I could get medicaid I used all of my retirement to pay for initial diagnosis and surgery and chemo... The retirement was gone in a couple months. I have been living on SSDI for 11 yrs. But with the cure diagnosis I can resume healing others because I healed myself with the help of western and eastern medicine. I wanted to play drums as a child in band... my parents didn't want me to play drums so got me a clarinet which was not my instrument so I didn't excel because there was no passion for the instrument. I sounded like a goose! LOL... I fell in love with the handpan/Hang drum when it first came out in Switzerland and tried to get there to purchase one before they came to the USA, and were mass produced in China and sold on Amazon at a low standard. I would like to get one when I am earning a living again from a Wisconsin handpan master artist in Madison WI. Right now most everything is out of my price range because I only bring in $21,000.00 a year... It is time to get my life back. Please email me and lets get connected so I can learn this gift from God as a healing instrument to give to pediatric dying families, and trauma healing... The kids are going to love it... The first sight is going to be all about space ships... LOL... I am excited. e-mail me and text me... bonnieljacobs@gmail.com 262-433-8555... Help me to take my gifts as a healer higher to transform the lives of people stuck in the human conditions, to rise above. I haven't even touched a drum yet but know this is right and good for my wellness and others healing transformation. Thank you David. I listen all the time. Peace and Love and Highest Good to you... Bonnie

Beautuful David, is there someone in Brisbane Australia who could assist in my Blisslist (bucket list) of experiencing a couple of hours playing on a Hang Drum before i loose ability to use arms and hand (i have been diagnosed with Motor Neuron MND). I love the sound, but i would love to feel it while I can. Thank you, Pete

This Handpan Lesson is so amazing! I just need to buy my drum. I do not know what notes would be best for me. I am just a beginner. What do you recommend for me to order?

Honest question, I just found out about the Rav Vast, Handpans, and Guda drums and I am very eager to get one. (not sure which I want yet because of price) but Does it take a tole on your hands? Do they hurt after playing? And for the other types, do you like using mallets or do you just prefer using your hands for instruments like these?
