I so badly want a handpan... The PERFECT percussion instrument IMHO just highly doubt I'll be playing one this side of Heaven... I literally do these technique, and have since I was a kid in the 70's, on anything my fingers can find... Never heard of handpan til a couple years ago and it just literally FLOODS my soul. No other instrument moves me like this and I've been making music my entire life in one form or another.

It's interesting how the sound of the instrument just touches/attracts some of us so much (me included). Why do you think you'll never have one, they are becoming more and more affordable.

I'm starting to wait for fridays since you started this serie. Great video ! Loved the comparison with other instruments, it really gives some perspective and context. I really liked the halftime khaligi composition, it has a lovely contrast in it :-) do you plan on making tutorials about longer pieces? I always find myself doing the same patterns in a loop and I'd love to be able to play longer pieces. One of my target is to do some kind of game of thrones theme song. There are some really good covers on youtube, but it's really hard to replicate.
@DavidKuckhermann
@DavidKuckhermann 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Corwyn, I love that one too, probably my favourite of the mini compositions. Yes, I do plan tutorials on longer pieces. Before that, the video in 2 weeks will most likely be about creating variety and developing a short pattern into a little music piece. Once I have a few more of these videos out, I'll probably make a poll with you guys between all the mini compositions from the different videos. The winner will be made into a fully fleshed-out piece.
