Definitely the most useful video I've seen lately. I'm actually stuck in a repetitive groove loop. The video helps me out.

This was a great video! You’re a fantastic teacher. Love this idea of using chance to create a melody or groove. I used to use similar ideas to create dance choreography and hadn’t thought to apply it to the handpan. Can’t wait to try now !

Hi Amy. Were do I find that Google generator for handpans?.🙏
@earthwalker48573 жыл бұрын
Love this!! Could you explain the difference between a groove and a melody? (:
@AmyNaylorMusic3 жыл бұрын
Mmm yes, we can talk about this more in class too, we're going to be playing with grooves! Thanks for bringing it up 🙌 Groove = a series of beats that create a rhythm, that stays in time and repeats. Not necessarily something you can sing along to, but something you can place a melody on top of. Melody = a series of notes in sequence that creates something you could (in theory) sing along to. Melodies by nature need some kind of rhythm to hold them together, and that's where lines start to blur! There are more nuances involved, probably better technical, musical terms, and it could also start to get subjective but that's the best I can explain from my perspective 😊 I'd be interested to read if anyone else chips in

0:22 It's always nice to find out how poorly your personal assistant really knows you when it responds to a woman giving a handpan tutorial who says "thank you Google".

I feel like every time I see you, your hair is even longer. What is this, the inevitable consequences of time passing as it always has? Love it. Love the vid, too. Always a sucker for random generation. Make a lot of use of it in the modular stuff.
@AmyNaylorMusic3 жыл бұрын
I KNOW! The longer it gets, the more the curl drops so now I looks like it's growing in double time 🙈
@somegeezer3 жыл бұрын
But those curls though! =D Where's that smiley with stars for eyes when you need it?
@AmyNaylorMusic3 жыл бұрын
They'll start to grow out sooooon!
@somegeezer3 жыл бұрын
I am sure they couldn't disappear. and just as sure you will find yourself with hair that makes you happy either way. =D I got the boring straight hair. Everytime it gets a bit of a wave going on from falling over my shoulders, I get excited. =P
