Handrail - Special Needs Home Modification - SYNGAP1 - Installation of a Handrail for Safety

Kyle’s Grandpa installs a 2nd handrail for Kyle’s safety. We live on the second floor of a condo and have been needing another handrail along our steps for awhile. We finally made it happen, with the help of my dad, who has also made many other things for Kyle since he was born.

You may have built it for Kyle, but let's not forget that it makes things a lot safer for EVERYONE - not just Kyle. All stairs should have handrails on both sides.

Absolutely agree!!! We've often wondered why that is not just a standard practice. We installed a 2nd banister in our previous house as well.

I love that you added another hand rail. All stairs should have a rail in general. It’s a lot safer that way :)

3:05 you said that kyle heve hypotonia n he had difficulty learning to walk kindly share with us any details about his learning journey n the equipment n exercise you incorporated for him to learn to walk I'll be very thankful 🙏 😊

We did a lot of direct assistance with helping him pull to stand and holding his hands while helping to move his legs. If you watch the video titled "What is SYNGAP" on our channel, you can see the walker and the walking platform we used for Kyle. These two things really helped, as well as physical therapy at our children's hospital.
