Ugh, I’ve missed shooting with Fuji since my time spent using the X-T1 through T3... I’ve been contemplating selling the R5 and R6 and going back entirely to Fuji with the GFX 100s and X-T4 but I’m just nervous about having 2 mounts, and Canon is amazing too. But there’s something to be said about using a camera that motivates you to create right? I used to carry the Fuji with me everywhere, but not so much with the canon cameras, but maybe that’s just a product of the times were in? Okay long rant over 😂

Dude I feel ya. Got an XT4 and R5, it is tempting to sell the canon and get this GFX... but the canon has its place. I’ll get this GFX one day.

Funny thing is I did just sell my R5 kit for the 100S. It was a tough decision but that just tells how good the R5 was. Stuck with the Nikon Z kit because of the Z lenses. I know it’s been a while, so what decision did you go with?

I’ve been out the loop with MF for a while and recently I’ve been looking at the X2D Hasselblad MF but didn’t realize that Fuji had this GFX 100s for less than the X2D and has beautiful images that I’m totally blown away with.. I really want it. I now for a sometime slow down with my studio portraits and moved away from action or outdoors portraits so composing mapping, taking my time and getting 102mega bite is the key. Do t need the speed just the quality Images. Thank you for your review and taken those beautiful stunning pictures.

As a (fmr) LONGTIME medium format shooter....what grabbed my attention was, how SMALL the form factor is! Wow. I don't miss the heft of Hasselblads at all. The only downer with this make/model of camera is....the demands upon the rest of your workflow: the files are HUGE. As is the need for storage.

I personally love owning and shooting on a Phase One over a mirrorless MF, but that's because I like being forced to slow down when shooting, and I like the feel of larger camera bodies more (this is why I still shoot on a DSLR). Not to mention that the digital backs offer you a full 645 MF sensor; whereas, the current mirrorless MF cameras are crop sensor full-frames. There are some advantages to a full-frame MF over the crop sensor. While not sensor or camera body type related, I also love my leaf shutter lenses. But those are my personal opinions.

Phase One is dead because of GFX100
@corbinwesler3985
@corbinwesler3985 3 жыл бұрын
@@GKhanKutar I'm sure you're a troll, but Phase One is far from dead. Curious as to your thoughts on Hasselblad? Are they dead to a mirrorless camera? No. Also what's the reason why you think they're dead to a mirrorless camera?
@corbinwesler3985
@corbinwesler3985 3 жыл бұрын
@@GKhanKutar The reason why Phase One and Hasselblad haven't been killed off by mirrorless systems is simply due to the fact that they're modular cameras. It's the same reason why the Mac Pro towers are so heavily sought after in the Apple lineup, and partially why the trashcan Mac Pro failed. There are a lot of professionals out there who have a use for a modular system, and don't want to be tied to a mirrorless system. Fujifilm's medium format camera's also don't support leaf shutter which is why they're far killing off modular MF camera's. The Hasselblad X1D would be more likely to kill Phase One and the H-series cameras since it supports leaf shutter.
@GKhanKutar
@GKhanKutar 3 жыл бұрын
@@corbinwesler3985 I am sure your a Phase One fanboii that search about GFX100 and talk about how good is Phase One. Lol. Hasselblad has been focused on mirrorless X1D system and they don’t make any improvement on H system anymore. Phase One IQ4150 is bulky and almost 9 times more expensive than GFX100s however the image quality is not that much of differences. They are so so close. I have used both of them. Fujinon lenses are insanely good. Actually GFX100 system has advantage over P1 because of amazing IBIS. You can not get the full power of 150 megapixel sensor with P1 at lower shutters but you can do with GFX. You have much better autofocus. So yes Phase One will be dead soon because GFX100 is selling very good.
@corbinwesler3985
@corbinwesler3985 3 жыл бұрын
@@GKhanKutar Yes, I am a Phase One fan boy because I own one. I also really love Hasselblad, and would buy one if I got a good deal on one. I'm not tied to one brand. I'm a medium format fanboy as someone who shoots medium format film and digital. I've also tested the H6D-100C, X1D, and Fujifilm GFX 50. Any professional who knows about medium format will agree that Phase One will not be dead soon. They are made for a specific use case that mirrorless medium format cameras are not designed for. I know it's hard for you to understand that. Yes, the GFX is selling well, but that doesn't mean it's going to kill off an entire camera that is meant for a specific purpose. Like I said, it doesn't even offer leaf shutter support which is something that attracts a lot of professionals to cameras like the Phase One, Hasselblad H-series, and the Hasselblad X1D. The place that the GFX has in the medium format world is to be more of a complementary and travel tool for those of us who shoot P1 or Hasselblad H-series. Not necessarily a replacement. Like you said, the DSLR MF cameras are large and heavy, so they aren't the most ideal to travel with. I personally own a Canon 5DSR to use as my workhorse when traveling, but it's not a MF camera. That's where things like the GFX and X1D come into play, and where they shine. Finally, like I said before, the GFX doesn't even offer leaf shutter support which is a make or break for a lot of photographers like myself. I've looked into buying a GFX as travel MF camera so I can keep the P1 at the studio, and honestly would buy one if it supported leaf shutter lenses. I'm not saying the GFX is a bad camera. I thoroughly enjoyed using it when I played around with it. But to say that that specific camera is going to kill off DSLR MF cameras is just not an educated statement since both cameras are designed for completely different use cases. P1 and Hasselblad excels where the GFX doesn't, and the GFX excels where the others don't which is mainly in street life or photojournalism

With crop factor isn’t that lens essentially a 50mm f1.4? Not trashing it at all, I’m sure it’s wonderful, it’s just not beating full-frame in terms of shallow DOF.
@corbinwesler3985
@corbinwesler3985 3 жыл бұрын
Assuming the GFX 100S is a crop sensor MF like the GFX 50 and GFX 100, it would be more like a 63mm. Most crop sensor MF cameras are around a 0.79 crop factor. You get the compression of an 80mm lens, field of view of a 63mm, and the amount of light that reaches the sensor when wide open would probably be closer to 1.4. On a "full-frame" MF camera (which is closer to what old 645 film MF cameras shot), an 80mm would be closer to a 50mm FoV.

So you got a 100mp camera, lowered the quality of the raws to 50mp then did a review? That is the most idiotic thing I have ever seen. Makes the review of the camera completely useless as you degraded the quality and performance of the camera.
@payamjirsa
@payamjirsa 3 жыл бұрын
This comment is the most idiotic thing I've ever seen. You literally ignored everything in the video, the education, the thoughts on the camera, everything. Why? Cause you think that 50mp vs 100mp doesn't allow you to see what the system can do. Ummm, no that's not how it works. There's so much more to this system than just 100 vs 50mp. Oh, and even at 50mp you can see how much detail the sensor is resolving. But nice try. Side note, shot plenty at both 100mp and 50mp, but I wanted this video to come out first. Next video I look at files at both sizes and in raw.

@@payamjirsa were you changing the size of the jpegs to 50mp or were they raw files? My understanding is that with this camera you cannot resize the raws unless shooting 14 bit compressed which is still massive. An option to do medium and small raws would be amazing, like the Nikon D850.

@@derekdibrell2067 I can't recall. I was shooting raw + jpeg, but I don't remember what size the raw files were at this point. Later in working with the camera, I shot 100mp raw. But, I'll know soon once I get them into post. I'll do a new video with them.

Why do you think he does NOT have the strap around his neck the way was designed to be used ? What do you think would happen if that 9k setup slips from his hand while not having that strap the way he SHOULD have it on ? And he is not the only one I have seen doing this . The strap was design for something differently than dangling from the camera and risking catching on something . Huuumm 🤔. As a professional photographer I NEVER shoot with a strap simply dangling like that , and even less when I have close to 10 grand on my hands !
