Hi! So very cool. I happen to be the customer operations manager at Acme Staple Company. This stapler was actually a roofing stapler. It was used to clip a particular type of shingle together. Loved seeing the acorn in there, and the note about the bronze bushings! You have your company history right, and I agree this one hails from sometime during the early 60s. When I started with the company in 1998, we still sold both the staplers and the staples. Thanks for doing this. Excellent job!

That is one SOLID piece of kit. Everything, not just tools, looks SO much better without any plastic bits. After that tidy-up, that stapler could probably last another 70 years. Hey Hand Tool Rescue I noticed you used your straight punches to get those seized pins started 8:08 . Use the taper punches of the same diameter first (if you have them). They are meant for getting pins to move that first little bit which is usually the hardest hammering you have to do, then switch it out with your straight punch and drive it home. It saves your fragile straight punches from peening over on the ends. Taper punches have more metal on the end so aren't as prone.
