Ford Fiesta Mk6- Solving Liftgate opening problems - Part 1

Liftgate opening button on the console was not working time to time. The electric signal opens the gate had a short duration to observe on the multimeter so I connected a lamp to observe it visually. Although there was no electric signal present when the button on the console was pressed, everything seemed normal when remote key was used to open the gate. What's wrong with this car? I have fitted a new solenoid but it still does not open via button on dashboard. Any ideas what the problem coould be?

Helpful video but I would have liked a commentary rather than a detailed description. In my case I could hear the solenoid trying to release the boot but nothing happened. It unlocked if I started the engine so I concluded that it was a low battery level. A few hours on charge solved the issue.

Didn't have time to solve it completely but I'm sure it is related to driver door lock mechanism electrical contacts.

You most probably need to replace the actuator.

My boot release works off the fob but not the internal release button,any ideas please

In my case the switch itself was faulty. I have open it, cleaned with compressed air and some brake cleaner and it works like a charm.

Thanks for the tip. In my case the switch was not faulty, I checked it with multimeter.
