I still have the brochure from 1986 and it was 129.00 option only avaaible with the Am/FM Quartz Lock Cassette tape player which was a 90.00 option. You could also get Bucket Seats/Shifter console for 39.00 Cruise Control 70.00 Tilt Wheel 65.00 Power Mirrors 45.00 Power Widows 130.00 and Power Seat 169.00 and Power Locks was 94.00. Deluxe Wire Covers 100.00 and LE trim was 169.00 All optioned out the sticker was 8046+ 346 freight charge + state and local taxes + L&T-150.00+ $8991.00 new in 1987 and 460.00 less for the 88 model year

Craigslist dude, there ALL OVER even the Dodge versions and their cheap as hell. Me and my buddy had this crazy idea for a body on frame swap and drop a V8 in one but couldnt see the point in buying another car which to make one car that is still a Kcar LOL

I don't know where you live so I'll try to give some info, but still keep it short. During the early 80's, Chrysler Corporation was on the verge of bankruptcy. They were know for having huge, out-dated cars. When oil prices were low, most people didn't think much about getting a large V-8 engine in a large sedan, but after the OPEC oil embargo, American's choices in cars began to change. In an effort to save the company from total failure, Chrysler came out with the K-car platform. This line of cars was a huge departure from the twin carburetor 426 CID Hemi Road Runners and triple carburetor 440 CID Chargers Chrysler was know, (and loved/feared), for. K-cars were small, fuel efficient 2.* liter cars that departed dramatically from the size and engineering Chrysler was know for. Being a totally now platform, they of course had their problems and gained a reputation as being an old man's car or a soccer mom' car. They were slow, clunky looking and not what Chrysler buyers were used to, so they are considered to be somewhat of a joke today. In their defense, that platform saved Chrysler from its eminent demise, going on to be one of the most successful line of cars ever produced by anyone and changing the way American automakers perceived what the public wanted in an automobile.

Im 37 Years old I remember the K cars. My first car was a 1988 Plymouth Sundance Built on stretched K Platform. These people like to joke about. These were ugly but tough and cheap little cars to work on. These were not even the brunt of the bad jokes. Look up 1985-1991 Yugo GV. This was the 1 car of jokes when it came out. Here is a Yugo joke Two men and a Yugo got arrested in Oakland CA followed by a push by shooting incident . You joke no 2What do you call a Yugo with a flat tire? A total loss. Yugo Joke no3 What's left after 2999.00 damage to your Yugo? 1200 worth of Dealer prep charges. and so on

The K-cars weren't as bad as people made them out to be, and they were the perfect high school/college-age go-getter. Some of the Yugo jokes I remember. I once bought a Yugo with a tow package. ...It was in the front. Q. Why does a Yugo have rear a window defroster? A. To keep your hands warm as you push it. Q. What do you call the shock absorbers inside a Yugo? A. Passengers. Q. What is found on the last two pages of every Yugo owner's manual? A. The bus schedule.

@@richardunicorn7879 most of the early handyman corner stuff worked even if silly, but the more elaborate ones not so much. But with a increased budget they could fake bigger projects. For instance watching closely at the mid engine cars one will notice a pair of brown clad legs in middle.
