The addition of this 7-11 earlier in the year was honestly a game changer! Used to really annoy me that I could only get drinks from a vending machine/the odd shop. But now I can get my drinks, an onigiri or 2 and also a selection of snacks for the flight!!

If you take ANA international flights, their meals are much better than convenience store food. I just got back from Japan yesterday and on both of the ANA flights, the food was amazing, and they feed you well and keep you hydrated all the time (I chose Asahi for my "hydration" but of course they have a pretty good selection of drinks lol)

We flew back to Australia end of November at Heneda airport, but unfortunately our departure gate was some where down the bottom floor and far away from the 7/11 store, end up having to get some drinks from the vending machine. We were running late for the boarding time, other wise could have looked for it. All these conveniences stores in Japan is the highlight of the trip to Japan.❤

I was at Kansai Airport a month ago when I came to Japan for holiday. The airport is undergoing renovation/upgrades, so there isn't many food options around, including convenience stores. I managed to find a convenience store (Family Mart if I remember correctly) near my gate, but it is so tiny (again, probably because of renovations) there wasn't much stuff available. There was a long queue, and the queue basically occupied all the available space in the tiny store. If my plan works out, I should be in Tokyo next March. Hopefully the airport situation at Narita/Haneda is better than Kansai.

Narita has a 711. But way smaller. That was at least prepandamic
@henlolneh Жыл бұрын
like the first person said, Narita has it's own 7-11 albeit about 1/2 the size of a normal 7-11 you'd find in the streets. still have plenty of options to stock up on liquids + snacks + bentos (if they arent sold out) for your flight. there are also quite a bit of fast casual spots within narita so if youre someone who wants to enjoy one final sit down meal prior to takeoff via Narita, you will be set. I have no idea about the fast casual situation in Haneda though other than what John just reported about this new 7-11!

John, your mention of "language presumption" reminds me of our experience in Belgium in March of 2001, where we were having dinner in Brugges. The waiter addressed me in English (duh!) so I responded to him in German to order drinks. Then he asked in German what we wanted to order for our dinner, so I responded in French (after asking my wife in Russian what she wanted). By now the waiter was perplexed, so I told him "you are doing good" in Dutch. The meal of moules frites was great and we got two free deserts for being polylingual yanks out of it.
