Definitely not to this extent, but this reminds me of people like Bernadette Banner who enjoy making and wearing victorian clothing! It would be so cool if trends like this caught on around the world!!! It'd give the young locals a way to connect with their home culture and past in a personal way, and it'd give visitors a tangible taste of the local culture and history! Hell, if it became popular enough then we might start to see all sorts of different historical and cultural clothes popping up and becoming common in diverse cities all over the world! Of course there are some social barriers to such a thing happening, maybe I'm just an idealist, but it's still kinda cool to imagine!

Yes, but the quality of most Hanfu pieces does not match what one finds in quality Kimonos made in Japan. The reason for this is because the tradition behind the making of Kimonos remains unbroken or ruptured, and so the strict guidelines behind the construction and make of Kimonos remains. Unlike China, where the traditional form of Chinese clothing was altered by the imposition of their Manchu masters, starting in 1644. With the Manchu conquest of China, men had to conform to Manchu requirements in dress and hairstyles. Men who refused to wear the Machu Queue,( a sign of submission), were executed. Only Buddhist and Taoist monks, were excluded, which is why these two groups preserved the original style of Chinese clothing. Hence, the Chinese lost the language of how to properly wear Hanfu. Unlike the Japanese, who continue to preserve the proper etiquette, and manner behind th wearing of Kimono. The quality of silk fabric in Japan is quite high, and this is witnessed in what is worn by actors in Noh or Kabuki, and historical reinactments seen in festivals. The fabrics worn by Noh actors is of a superb quality and superlative exquisiteness not matched in what is worn in Beijing or Kunquo Drama. Chinese fabrics were once, highly regarded, and in great demand, but suffered because of the historical tumult and chaos during the 20th century

@@bunnicula3221The influence of China on Japan and Korea, did not end with the T'ang. Cultural influences continued into the Song, but was disrupted with the Yuan Dynasty. Influences resumed during the Ming, but by that time, Japan had pretty much matured and progressed beyond their Chinese templates. The Japanese expression was already distinct during the Heian period. The clothing of the Heian court in Kyoto, was quite diffetent then worn in the imperial Chinese court. The Japanese were very discerning and selective of what Chinese influences they would accept and develop into their own tastes. Which is why Japanese, food, clothing, architecture, gardens and Buddhism, is different then what is found in China.

Make no mistake, these clothes are fairly modern inventions which more closely remsembles drama costumes than it does real period clothes. Also these are historical/period clothing, actual traditional Hanfu is the Qipao or Cheongsam, Zhongshan suit, magua, tangzhuang, which is recognized from Republic of China to modern China, which celebrates the clothes of the working people than nobility and wealthy people.

Most of these Chinese clothes are very traditional. Ancient Chinese paintings. Make murals, and a large number of unearthed cultural relics have proof. --------------------------- kimono (in now Japanese language)= ancient Chinese dress in ancient Japan (The Chinese emperor named ancient Japan as "東瀛 dong ying & 扶蘇 fusu & 倭wo" in history. As one of the regions of China's power jurisdiction. It is closely related to the Chinese royal family and the official). kimono (Japanese traditional dress). In history, it has always been called " 吳服Wu Fu" (Japanese kimono shop is also called " Wu fu Store"). " 吳服Wu Fu" means the clothes worn by ancient Chinese (a certain area in ancient China). Because foreigners do not understand Chinese characters and real Japanese history. Therefore, they will be misled by the preach of modern Japanese culture. --------------------------- 1910. Japan has swallowed Korea. The Japanese believe that some of the low -level Korean traditional culture and primitive (women expose their nipples and transport things on their heads) are very primitive and backward. The Japanese banned Korean women from exposing the nipples (the traditional Korean costume. Hanbok). The Korean people strongly resisted. Koreans believe that this is a traditional culture of Korea. They insist on retention. In the Korean capital city. As long as the Japanese see those Korean women who show their nipples, they will give them penalties and slaps. After that, the Korean capital city gradually reduces Korean women's nipples. They cover the nipples with a piece of cloth. (But in the place where there are fewer Japanese soldiers. Korean women still maintain the traditional culture that exposes nipples). Until 1950, Westerners were still taking photos in Korea. A photo of Korean women showing nipples on the street (traditional Korean clothing). In 1970, this kind of Korean traditional culture disappeared completely. Hanbok (Korean traditional costumes) Historically, Korean women's clothes show their nipples (about 11 years old. After they get married and have children), until they are old, they use their heads to transport things (and the original culture of Africa). * Ancient Korean traditional costumes are pure white (the Korean people have been known as the "White clothes ethnic" since ancient times), and women's clothes are exposed their nipples (the Korean people show their nipples to represent the beauty). This reflects the ancient Korean people and thoughts. ---------------------------- Each "king in the ancient korean peninsula" has been always "dual structure" of ppl of ruling class (chinese) and civilians / slaves (koreans). More than 90% of the territory of the ancient Korean Peninsula 朝鮮半島 was Chinese territory. It was where the Chinese lived (a small number of them were local indigenous people who were slaves). Only the southernmost part of the peninsula was the "white-clothed ethnic 白衣民族" (ancestors of Koreans today)lived. Their language was Korean language. Until the Ming Dynasty emperor changed their name to "Chosun 朝鮮". During this period, the Korean peninsula was under unified administration. "white-clothed ethnic 白衣民族" (ancestors of Koreans today) joined as civilians and slaves in ancient Korean peninsula. They were governed by local Chinese officials and families. Only Chinese could use Chinese characters 漢字and live in Chinese palaces. And "white-clothed ethnic 白衣民族" (the ancestors of Koreans today) are forbidden to use and learn Chinese characters 漢字(except for a few mixed-race people and those who work in the palace). Therefore, during the Korean Peninsula War in history, the Chinese emperor would send troops to the Korean Peninsula to help fight against the invaders.

no, they are all real clothing from different dynasty, those you mentioned are only for clothing in china in 20th centuries( early) , not before that, so study before you comment

@@xinyiquan666honey, all the pictures she showed are period drama costumes, you can look up historical artifacts they don't resemble these clothes at all. Also period or historical clothes is for clothes that have gone extinct, nobody wears period clothes and call them traditional clothes. Traditional clothes is living history, like the Qipao (cheongsam), tang Zhang, Magua and ZhongShan suit. The other stuff are historical wear, and the ones shown in her video are period drama clothes that do not even resemble historical wear much. Some are even period theatre clothes mixes. I am tired of young Chinese being gaslit that Hanfu is extinct and tries to use theatre clothes to replace real traditional Hanfu.

I’m currentlu studying in London, but so far I’vent run into anyone dress in Hanfu, if anything I’m usually the only Chinese in those popular tourist areas in central London. But maybe I would see some of my fellow oversea Chinese students wear them during this upcoming Chinese New Year. My wife wore it once for a dance show, and I think it looked really good on her.

Hanfu should be returned to its rightful place as authentic, traditional Chinese clothing, and not the Manchu inspired clothing many have long associated Chinese clothing as being. However, Hanfu must be more then" super trendy," or cool.

Funny how the majority of the world thinks Manchu costumes are traditional Chinese, yet Hanfu is the actual real deal!
