Teresa. I have to tell you when you started your video with the mask on I darn near peed myself. I live in Fl and my nephew came to visit a week ago with his wife and twin girls. One night everyone was in bed except for Claudia his wife. She walked into the room where I was stitching and I thought to myself wow she looks really different she must have taken her makeup off I didn’t look too closely. She was texting on her phone while sitting on the floor, so I was looking down on her and I just stared at her. She had the mask on her face and from the angle I was looking at her she kind of looked like a monster. So when I saw you I just started roaring with laughter. Thanks for being you

Back in the 80’s and 90’s I was into makeup too (when I was young 🙄) I did the blue, purple and green mascara too. I wear minimal makeup now just to keep from scaring people lol Love the kit kat stash 😉 always enjoy the beautiful work that you do. Have a great week!

Theresa, this was so much fun seeing your WIPs! The photo at the end is so sweet-I love it! I think you SHOULD put your cats’ names on the sampler. I stitched my cat in several samplers that had houses that had windows in them and now I stitch my dog(s) on my samplers....I will have to stitch their names on the next one. I just love that idea!

It's always wonderful to hang with you and I think I need to do a face mask too :) I too have found that coverage on 36 is so much better using 1 strand of silk. I also stitch on 36 with DMC floche and am very happy with the coverage. Thanks for sharing all your projects. Keep cool!

I enjoyed your WIP parade! Thanks for sharing all of your lovely projects! I thought your take on 36 count was interesting. I have gone back to trying the sewing method for some small projects and I find it much easier on 36 count than on 40, but I prefer the coverage on 40 by far. So maybe it would be fun to experiment with using silk on 36 count for better coverage. Do you find that added thickness to be universal with silk or are there certain brands you have noticed that have thicker silk?

Au Ver a Soie is a thicker silk than Needlepoint Inc. Nicola Parkman just did a video with a shop owner, and there is a TON of information about different threads there (and they compare thicknesses). If you're using Gloriana, the Florimell is the thicker (Au ver a Soie base). I mainly stitch with AVAS and Needlepoint Inc. (and Thread Gatherer and Gloriana).

The mask was fun! We have pictures of our whole family and 3 of our friends on vacation in Montana all doing facial masks and they are hysterical. Loved seeing all of your WIPs. I agree with the makeup thing. Ever since I retired I hardly ever wear any at all plus mascara and eye makeup seems to bother my eyes. Hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend! - Connie

If I want to dumb down the colours of some stitching can I Coffee/tea dye it? Or should I use a dye and if so which one. My eyes appreciate working on white these days. I loved this video and the mask ...!!! Your pieces are gorgeous, want all of them. But I have enough to do in my basket. I don’t do makeup these days. I wore some when I was younger but not now as I’ve developed allergies to most things. Two videos in two days has been a treat. It’s impossible to watch everyone on Floss Tube and I follow links sometimes to find new people but I do stick with my favourites. Take care 😊💕🌷

I have coffee/tea dyed my pieces when I'm done stitching them. You have to be careful, though, because darker colors (like navy, red, brown and black) can bleed. My poor eyes need reading glasses, and I'm down to my last two pairs (my good ones, and my cheapies.) I'll have to go get another pack of cheaters, because I need to have some in every room. :D - T

You crack me up with the mask. Only you would be so comfortable in your own skin to do that. I love that about you. You have some beautiful project bags, some very huge WIPS (which would scare me), but you will have some very, very beautiful samplers when they are done! I am trying to get rid of my WIPs, but watching Flosstube keeps introducing me to things I have never seen before...like The Heart that Gives, which I just may have to buy.

As always a joy to watch and listen to. Of course the felines are so fun to watch too. Your videos are calming and soothing. And I can actually say that today you literally inspired me to get out one of my many WIPS. I brought you along to my workout and watched while I cycled. It was just so humid and I was tired but I told myself there'd be A/C and I could watch you! I love all your samplers -some are really stunning. I liked the Scarlett Letter one especially. And I really liked the flower one you showed near the end. I enjoy hearing your likes of fabric choices and your impressions of particular threads.. I had never heard of the magazine Fine Lines. Was it exclusively cross stitch? I have most of the copies of Antique Samplers and Needlework and was actually a little depressed when they stopped publishing. I'm keeping them for their historical content. I'm originally from New England and it's so easy to envision the young girls at their embroidery. But to think of how young some of them were! And they did such marvelous work.I love alphabets but I realize they aren't everyone's cup of tea . So glad you like them . You are doing us all such a great favor by designIng as you do and by showing us new and old charts . You positivity just permeates through your chats! You are a go to video when I need some cheering up. Thanks for being you! Your boys are handsome and you look lovely in the picture.

Fine Lines was a sampler magazine that was quarterly, It was really great, and some very nice patterns. You can sometimes find complete sets (or single issues) on eBay, which is how I filled out my collection. Thanks for the nice compliments -- that's very sweet. :) - T

I kept hearing about you from other Floss tubers but this is my first video and of course a cat would pop up on your chair and start grooming himself in a totally inappropriate way....lol.....my cat (that has passed) used to pee on all my quilts, or help me on every single quilt I ever made. I have tons of pictures of him sneaking (invisi-cat like) behind my sewing machine and a paw just reaching out like i can’t see him and then parking himself on a quilt that I am quilting and trying to move and then, yes, you guessed it, grooming himself. I miss my guy. Anyway what was the mask, you were wearing because when I started watching I was thinking, ‘her skiing is glowing’. Love all your projects. (P.S. I’m glad I found you and subscribed). Watching floss tube fills my procrastination with my quilt projects that I HAVE to get done)

Glad you found me! The mask was from Bath & Body Works. I got it last summer at their semi-annual clearance. I think it was a berry one. It was kind of cool, but I don't know if I'd do one too often -- very gooey. :) - T

Loved seeing all your WIPs. My oldest one is at least 15 years old - Sharon Cohen’s English Cutworke Sampler. I had finished her Millennium sampler from SANQ and then got perhaps a bit too ambitious! It’s about 2/3 done and I really hope I get inspired to finish it. Do you know what happened to Sharon? I loved her patterns and have several of them, but I haven’t seen anything new from her for many years now.
