Mine failed . Had plastic rollers. Kayak was around 90 pounds . The plastic roller ended up just breaking .

Ugh.... I'm going to pin this post so people see that it's not suitable for 90lb kayaks even though it's rated that high. I have my 65lb up there with no issues so far. Thanks Mark.. appreciate it.

These use 1/4 lag bolts would you recommend 1/4 X 3" lag bolts?
@wendellfishing Жыл бұрын
I have not had any trouble with the standard lags that came with it.

Also the most important question is so you have a measurement of where your bottom of your yak sits when fully stored on the pulley system?

Do you recommend using a better rope? Reviews say rope is junk?
@wendellfishing Жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, my recco would depend on the weight of your kayak. If you are 45lbs or less, you will be fine. If you have a heavier kayak (likely) then the rope provided will work but it wont work well. If you have a really heavy kayak or multiple kayaks, and get them up and down often.. then I would recommend this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5LSppKBZp1gb8k

@@wendellfishing Actually it's will be for a Colorado Pontoon boat weight will be under 75lbs

@@49ers49ers Yeah.. it's great if you are only putting it up for storage.. a PIA if you have to pulley it up and down often.

Ever had any issues with the 125lb weight limit? My SS127 is 94lbs with nothing in it.
@wendellfishing2 жыл бұрын
Great question.... I'm pushing the limit with my kayak. Just make sure it's bare when you raise it. Also, if this is something you plan on using daily.. this may not be the best. If you are going to put your kayak up and down 15 times or less a year then this would be a good system. I think of mine more of a winter storage solution.

Would be better off using a plug in bench hoist.

How do you lower it?
@wendellfishing2 жыл бұрын
Great question.. there is a lock/release at the top. If you pull down and to the left, it releases, if you pull in the opposite direction it locks it.

@@wendellfishing Like some window blinds? My wife will never be able to figure that out. 😆 May be helpful to show how to lower it at the end of the video. Thanks!

@@bmeach4940 Actually.. similar to window blinds. If I ever recreate this video.. I will definitely show.
