Really excellent video. I'm a modeller myself and ex member of the Irish F3A aerobatic team and I appreciate the labour of love that went into this video. Beautiful crystal clear camera work, just the right level of details, an exquisite eye for neat, clean work, and above all an excellent narration. Really excellent effort, it's unusual to see such quality across all the disciplines. Full marks 👍

As a builder, I always try to keep from being a snob when I watch an ARF Assembly video. I have assembled this ARF when they first came out. It really is a nice plane. I would have used different hardware in several places but that's the snob thing coming out. Nice job. I really hate cutting cowls and you did a nice job. Now, on to the maiden!!!

One added benefit to the servo controlled choke Is it can be used as an engine kill in an emergency. The ability to do this is required in the AMA safety code. Of course you can have an ignition kill as well. It is really nice to have both though.

Good video! A naive question for you: how do you handle aileron and flap servo connections with the RX? Do you disconnect the servo connections at the RX, or do you use extension cables and disconnect them from the servo leads every time you store the plane after flight?

Great video! Curious as to why you used a servo reverse adapter instead of just running the second servo to another channel on the receiver, mixing the two channels together in the radio and reversing the channel. Only reason to use the module is if you were out of channels on the receiver. Otherwise you eliminate an extra point of failure by using two channels.

Nice job and nice build. I wonder if a 20cc twin would fit? Kind of surprised it didn’t come with barrel hinges. Some baffeling might be necessary to force air through the fins.

Since you are running a DX9 you don't need a servo reverser for one side of the elevator, that can be done in the transmitter, DX7 and up. I had a DX6 when I built my first gasser, ran into that problem and it gave me the perfect excuse to upgrade to a DX7 which wouldn't require a servo reverser, its handled in the transmitter programming. My old DX6 would have required a servo reverser to handle a 2 servo setup on the elevators.

With your ignition so close to the servos have you had any interference problems with the servos, like the servos moving on their own when the engine is running? I have a great planes seawind 90 and tried to install a Saito gas engine, but with the ignition close to the servos, the servos started moving on their own when the engine is running which means the ignition put out interference that messed with the servos

Hi Fitz just have a question, about the fuel tanks I'm just putting my Junkers CL1 together. as I Have watched your vido and noticed that you have used the fuel tank plug that it came with,, so can you use that plug for petrol engines, or do you have to use a petrol plug look forward to your answer Robbie
@HobbyView Жыл бұрын
Depends on the tank. Most big planes come with tanks meant for gas. You can also get Dubro tank plugs for gas if you are not sure.
@kokman62 Жыл бұрын
cheers, I have checked the Dubro plugs but they are too small as my tank has a 17mm plug. How can you tell it the tank and plug are for petrol, My model is a seagull model the wingspan is 175cm or 68.9 in thanks, Robbie@@HobbyView

I'm 10min in the video and like seeing a plane come together. The engine, saw someone install a Saito 3 cylinder radial engine on the Hellcat. If I do get either the P-47 or F6F, I'll try the radial engine because I feel like that they need a radial engine because they're full size sisters also had a radial engine. Loving the video content keep up the good work
