The Easy Fly 40 was my first rc airplane and I learned to fly rc with it. Mine had an Enya 40. I just rebuilt my Hangar 9 Advance 40 that I have had for 20 years and can’t wait to fly it again when the weather permits.

nice work in doing the restore and flight video...... I am a beginner who is currently learning to fly using an old school Tower 40 size nitro high wing trainer, very much like this plane....can you recommend a good next step model ...I was thinking maybe an electric 3S size battery type or another size 40 nitro........thanks much ....

IMO the best second plane once you master a trainer is a SIG 4-Star .40. You can easily replace it if you crash badly because they are current production and still made. Don't look to find a kit in your local hobby shop though. SIG pretty much eliminated "the middle man" a few years ago so you buy them direct from them on their website. The nitro/glow kits are only made by a few manufacturers in 2021. I don't know what happened because when I started this hobby the first time in the 80's and 90's that was pretty much all there was. Now it's a instant gratification market with electric powered RTFs made of foam in China. That is not what I am going for and neither are most of the rest of you old schoolers that started when I did and before. Anyway...here is the link. sigmfg.com/collections/sig-kits Be sure to support them so they don't go the way of Great Planes and other former big names. When you used to walk into a local hobby shop the shelves and walls were completely full of nitro/glow powered kits of all makes, O.S. and Tiger engines and Futaba radios. Wish it was still like that because electric RTFs are boring and have no soul. The one you have is exactly the same as the guy next to you. When you build them the custom features and color schemes are endless. How many different choices of engines alone could you pick? Use your imagination and create something memorable and noteworthy.

Hi. I got an EF40 in same conditions. Pls, how did you take tail surfaces off? Thanks
@michaelsmutnick3 жыл бұрын
The tail was mostly broken when I bought it, it was not attached correctly. as you can see I put some new balsa on the tail of the fuselage to reattach the stabilizer and rudder

What engines can you use in this plane? Do they all fit the motor mounts
@michaelsmutnick5 жыл бұрын
The plane came with an OS FX 46. The bolt pattern is close enough to the Enya 45 that the slightly enlarged holes in the fiberglass mount lined up. You could use any 40-50 size 2 stroke motor in this plane just change out the fiberglass mount if needed.
