Love your videos! I had got out of flying RC Airplanes for about 5 years after only flying for only 2 or 3 years and spending a ton of money! I came across your videos last year and the way you and your awesome wife take the time to explain setup and flying I've found a new love for flying. You guys are amazing! For the past 5 years, my father and I have said that we need a big balsa j3 cub with wheel pants, and optional clipped wings. It's like horizon heard us! Cant wait to get a second one to have one wheel (we plan on having 2. One on wheels, one on floats)

Trying to sneak a couple of flights in tomorrow at work. Gonna be cold here, but that keeps the riffraff home 😊 I've noticed the braking on a couple of newer versions of Avian ESCs, tractoring in TR or after switching back to fwd after using TR. Seems to just keep rolling until you kick throttle in again. Not a problem. Just noticed it recently with the Avian 85 lite and 70 lite Ver-E. Love the J3! Love how you slipped it behind those trees. So nice to really know your field like the back of your hand. 👍

Yeah, that issue with the Avian is weird, and haven't noticed it on any other of our BIG planes. Knowing the site helps so much, and it make a HUGE difference - and yet I still get to know it even better every time my planes land in trees - LOL ;) Good luck on sneaking a few flights in Al! We're trying for a couple here too, but not sure it's gonna happen either...

Great info! Last year I got back into the hobby after a 20 year absence and am currently building an old Carl Goldberg Cub, in the covering stages right now using NOS Solartex fabric. It was converted to electric and can't wait to get it airborne in a few weeks (assuming the weather cooperates).

I like how it flies. And I like electric now. But to me this Cub seems to need a nice four stroke for the sound. Oh, and I love the cherry tree ... being gone! Lol Edit: Of course with a four stroke you're not gonna have thrust reverse. Duh.

20 years ago i had a hanger 9 p-40 warhawk. i stuffed an SK-80 two stroke in it. best plane i ever had. pretty sure they dont make them as good as they used to.

I wish I could honestly make the comparison, but to date, we've not done the Hangar 9 Carbon Cub SS ;(... I suspect it is very nice, but since I haven't flown it, I can't say. I know I WANT it badly, but to be frank, the Timber SWS 2.0m would closely fill that gap, when I also have the J-3 Cub...but that doesn't seem to stop me wanting the Carbon Cub - LOL ;)
