Those flowers are called bearded Iris, and the fish are most likely pond Smelts. Pond smelts are actually delicious slightly sweet with a mild fish flavour.

Gotta love the Crappie. I went Crappie fishing with my dad and little brother at the Tongue River Reservoir. Bagged out in less than 2 hours. Great fishing, just need a yellow or green jig and they'll bite in less than a minute. Wonderful memories. Tom I wanted to say something about the apple trees. I have several apple trees on my rural property and I don't spray or harvest them. What I do is gather them and bank them into piles under each tree in the Fall when the weather gets cold. The purpose of doing that is during the hardest months usually February the Deer gather around the trees and scratch through the snow and eat the apples. I rarely have had them turn brown and rot. They usually freeze and are edible for the deer. It feels good to watch them eat the apples during the most stressful time for them. I would suggest you try it even with one tree the Fall. I've seen rabbits help themselves also. Wild birds come down and peck the apples the deer expose too. By Spring the area is clean and ready' for the Fall fruit.

Damn Tom you and I have more in common than I thought I raised a pot cake down here in FL I'm from n b she was by far the most intelligent healthiest dog she caught fish by herself she could literally pick fish-out-of-water catfish and mullet she caught both of them all the time the dog live to a crazy insane age and even right before she died she was healthy I was able to walk her up until like maybe the last week that dog was the light of my life can anyone who's looking for a a real intelligent companion in a dog not a showpiece please consider adopting a potcake 10/10 would recommend they are amazing around children and other dogs intelligent and loyal the pot cake is the true friend of mankind
