Thanks for the great smoking tips. Your UDS looks a little like mine. It is an old homemade one. I have subscribed to learn more.

Nice videos. I'd like to see a tutorial on how you set up the hooks for the ribs. Just seasoned mine last last.

Do u use the exhaust to help control the temp I notice a lot of people just use the intake and leave the exhaust wide open to set there temp. My first couple of cooks I used just the intake it held temp but my las cook I had to use the exhaust as well to maintain my temp?
@BakersBBQ3 жыл бұрын
Great question! Yes I use both especially as I advance through a long cook. I tried just using the intake with the exhaust wide open but my temp was staying to high. Once I adjusted the exhaust into the 2 or 3 position I was able to bring my temp down into a more desired range of 250° to 265°. Question, leaving the difuser plate in defeat the idea of hanging ribs over the coals? not being rude just a thought.
@BakersBBQ2 жыл бұрын
I mainly cook without the difuser but had it in during this cook. I actually like the way it cooks up better without the difuser 👍🏻! Thanks for watching and subscribing 👍🏻

I had the diffuser plate in during my cook and they were the best ribs ive ever made. however, i did cut the racks in half to keep the end from getting too close to the heat source. that helped with even cooking. the charcoal flavor still injects them very good even with the plate in.

@@BakersBBQ I've got the Bronco as well and love it, but the one thing I don't like is that the vertical distance between the hooks and the charcoal basket is too short. With the diffuser plate in, a normal sized rack of ribs will have the lower end resting on top of the plate, but without the plate, they'll be practically hanging into the coals and getting burned. I wish the cooker were another 3-4" taller.

@@PongGod I agree on all points & recommend cutting the racks down to avoid this issue. 👍🏻
