@@BackyardBirdsofAustralia Hi! The day before yesterday i fed a wild kookaburra for the first time, and i was wondering if it would be ok if i asked you any questions for some advice? :) See, they don't usually come to the yard because of mynah birds, but recently there's been a bit of a shift in bird politics, and the other day i played a kookaburra laughing and within minutes there was one on my line! It came back yesterday too, and that's when i fed it, but it didn't come back today. I could play the recording again but i honestly feel like it would make me a bit of a ****heel for various reasons, to make it think it might have a neighbour that doesn't exist. The thing is i would really like it to come back. I've only watched a few of your videos and I'm not sure how your birb relationship situation originally came about, but i am in inner city Sydney near some pretty massively industrial stuff, and usually only encounter turtledoves and mynah birds, who have tended to collectively harass all larger birds so that they never visit, although this recently did shift a bit. I can't explain how exciting and special it was for me to receive this visit. i wonder what you think, quite literally, about the ethics of luring it back with a recording. i could avoid doing that, but I'm sure it's the only reason it visited in the first place. i would love it to visit for feeds, i could see it was returning food at the time presumably for its chicks or mate, as it would fly of with a piece of beef and then return. I'd be so grateful for any advice ❤️✌️
