Thank you Tracie, I really appreciated this tutorial. Love that someone else is as fussy as me with lining things up :D May I also say that I did not skip any of it. Regarding the hole punching tools...These days my wrists are simply not strong enough to use the traditional tools. I use a hammer and punch set that was gifted to me by my son and his partner. The best and most used tool set in my craft room. It is produced by 'Making Memories' and includes round nosed pliers, 2 large needles, a piercing tool, hammer, a hole punch shaft with 3 different sized screw on heads, strong bent nosed tweezers and an eyelet setter which is also operated by banging with the hammer. Another wonderful feature of this set is, I am not restricted to where I want my holes/eyelets positioned as I simply place a cutting mat under my project wherever I am making the hole. Great when you want to put eyelets in a 12x12 Scrapbook page :)
@TracieFoxCreative6 жыл бұрын
Yvon, thank you so very very much for watching and leaving this lovely comment! I purchased a set of larger eyelets recently and they came with 2 bits to hammer them in. I have nothing as yet strong enough to make a hole through the wood I have been using for covers! I understand what you are saying about your wrists not being strong enough, it can be a strain for sure. I am so glad you have found a way to continue working :-D Thanks again and I hope you continue to enjoy my channel, Tracie xxx

Another unique video that has inspired me. Tfs. Suggestions: I use a regular old school hole punch from fiskars ($4) in several sizes. I have a cropadile and other WRMK tools, but they are stored where I can keep the compact hole punches out. Try 3 thicknesses of aluminium foil to sharpen the edges of your corner punch. Fold a peice and cut it a bunch of times with the corner rounder and see if that helps sharpen it. You are enjoyable to watch. Don't rush. We are enjoying your process. Do not apologize for anything. Just keep rolling with it. You rock.

Tracie, thank you for the lovely tag ideas!! I get inspired by clothing tags and junk mail, as well. There are very few tools in the craft room that I swear are requirements other than a bone folder, a knife, and scissors; however, the crap-a-dile is another that is almost essential. it will poke holes in thin metal, leather, thick layers of cardstock, and eve chipboard, and of course, it set eyelets, as well. I have even recently upgraded to the Big Bite Crop-a-dile, which allows for punching holes and setting eyelets 6" into a project, where the Crop-a-dile only allows around 1" in or so. Once you have fallen in love with it as your ONE tool to punch and set, I suggest you look into the Corner Chomper, which is a tool that will again round corners to a radius of 1/4" or 1/2" through leather, metal, layers of cardstock, and even layers of chipboard. To sharpen either tool, an possibly even your punches now, I punch through several layers of aluminum foil that is sandwiched between some waxed paper to lubricate the metal punch, as well. I adore your videos, so please, never think they are too long!! Thanks for sharing!

Love Love Love these! You are so inspiring, I am going to have a go at making some of these. I love a chance to use my Cropadile, and would recommend them. Like you, I had brought cheaper alternatives, but they are no where near as good, there is an old saying, buy cheap, buy twice and it is certainly true when it comes to hole punches.
@TracieFoxCreative7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and for watching Michelle xx Yes that saying is certainly true, try buy 4 times lol. I have finally learnt my lesson xx
These are adorable. I just recently broke down and bought the cropadile. It's super nice and way sharper than any other punch I've ever owned. I do think it's something you'll be able to have for the rest of your life.
