It would be a real toss up for me. They both have endearing qualities. Do you find the Cape is less needy?❤️

Yes. Hate to say it, but yes. Of course, Emerald isn't a large enough representation of Hahn's Macaws, but my sense is that they do need more attention.

Oh, thanks for saying so! Consider traveling to get your parrot too- otherwise, I don't think you can go wrong as long as you spend lots of time with your parent and you don't mind some noise! Yes, Emerald is a gem, but a squawky one! Lol

I have a 3 year old Female Cape. A wonderful parrot to own. She”s relatively quite and has a great vocabulary. She has even picked up some phrases from the tv. Very smart. The topic of how many nuts to feed is so controversial. It drives me mental. Considering birds come from different places, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that their diet may be different. Thank you for sharing what you feel their nut requirement should be. I appreciate you and your wisdom.

I'm right there with you -- I HATE feeling confused and frustrated when I read contradictory info online... I rely on my mentor, Tony Silva. He is known the world over for his parrot knowledge. Plus, he's been working with parrots for over 45 years. He was the director of Parque Lorro in Spain, and they are said to have the largest collection of parrots. My point: he knows what he's doing. He doesn't do things unless he''s got scientific research or studies to back up decisions. That makes me feel good about the information on what to feed. It's not 'what he feels like' or his guesses, it's based on a lot of experience and knowledge. :) Hope that helps -- I would never do things for my birds without being convinced that there are good reasons for the choices being made for them.

Hi I’m thinking on getting a Hahn’s macaw what’s the pro and cons and how loud are they cause I live in an apartment with my mother and sister and we want a parrot as a family pet so should I get a Hahn’s macaw I feel like they are me as a parrot that why I love them and attached to them although I know they are challenging. Also atm I’m always home if I left it would be 3 hours or 2 but in sep school will be only 2 days physical school then all week online and our school is like 6 hours so what’s your thoughts (also in the future from now to 3 years which I will be a senior I will be on school from Sunday to Thursday 6 hours a day is a Hahn’s macaw for me? Please replay I can give it attention as soon as I get home but idk if it gonna work out

www.notion.so/Video-ideas-2-5f7657c7b18448a38b97d7ea681d1a39 That is a link to a video of my parent-led aviary. You can also do a search on parrot bliss parrotlet aviary and you will see a video of me also in the aviary. My parent lets disprove time and again the myth that you can only have one parrotlet at a time. I've done videos on having one and adding a second, but I'll do a video on having more than one again in the next couple of days for you, keep watching. Thank you for posting.
