You had to remind me of Fancy Gap . I broke down just as I got to the top in the morning fog. Two or three rigs passed me by… boy was I all alone up there. A trooper with lights on even passed me by. About an hour later I tried the engine and she fired! I nursed it all the way down….as I passed one rig rear-ended the other right to the back of the cab. The trooper was apparently responding to the crash….guess I was lucky after all. Wow!

That's incredible. Lots of drivers these days couldn't drive a super ten. Much less this with the split gears. Fantastic video mad skill.

6x4? is that a 2 speed rear end button on the one stick?

More than likely a 10 speed Road ranger with a 4 speed Spicer auxiliary transmission. A popular set back in the day. The up down switch is not for a two speed rear end.

I hopped in a T800 on heavy haul that had a 15 speed Road ranger with a 4 speed Sicer auxiliary transmission. You don't use every gear, but are available

Makes me remember riding with my Uncle as a young lad. He was a Log hauler most of his adult life. His old Conventional Peterbilt (he called her "Fat Sally" why I have no idea. But she had a Detroit Diesel in her that he had custom built and I spent many happy hours riding up the mountain to get a load of logs at 4:30 A.M. and back down to the Mill and turn around to go get another load....we worked before sun up till sun down and its hard work but I wouldn't have it any other way. See I now own the Family Logging Business and my Uncle's Pete "Old Fat Sally" is still driven daily from the landing where the logs are sorted and stacked to the mill . She still runs like a swiss watch and we take extra good care of her.
