I'm lucky to have learnt and studied the best golf coaches in the world. Here's my mash-up slice tip from Pete Cowen & Hank Haney.

Did you watch my round of golf yesterday or something?! I was the slice master! Great video, going to work on this for the next couple weeks!
@KellySmuts222 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy 😃 I had seen snippets of this technique somewhere else recently and have started to implement it in the last 2 weeks. I’ve hit a slice/fade my whole life 🤣 and I started drawing the ball in my last round of golf I was amazed and happy! Yes I hit some pull draws/hooks into the trees but I can definitely say that this technique does work 😃 thank you for explaining the drill better for me

Mate, this isn’t a pure gold! Can’t wait to try it out this afternoon! Been a proper thorn in my side with slicing. This makes so much sense and simplifies everything. Nice one! 👍🏽👍🏽

The Hank Haney slice drill you did in 2016 was the most effective drill I've ever used, I use it as my pre shot routine always now. This one is the last two parts of that drill and really good stuff that works. 👍👍

@@Danf88560 Andy Carter's channel from May 24, 2016. It's called Hank Haney Drill to Stop Slicing the Golf Ball. Sound is way out of sync but overlook that, the drill is amazing.

Andy, I'm not sure how I missed this gem when you release it, but this is absolutely what I needed to tackle my driver swing issues. I just started learning the golf swing 2 years ago and played my first round summer of 2021. I've primarily focused on my irons and putting but I really need to focus on improving my driver and long club game. This breakdown is amazing in helping me think through it as I practice and drill to get better. Thank you as always for this great content!

I think this is the drill i need. I watched Haney's video where he cures that guy who has been slicing for 40 years by having him do those circles and the correct downswing. I've been suffering from a massive slice issue lately and i did those 'circles' and while the giant slice 50-75 yards into the trees is gone, my flight path is still very much left to right and i'm not getting the distance i used to get when hitting it straight. I'm thinking that my club face is likely pretty square, but my club path is still too much out-to-in

Perfect timing - I was looking for a drill to help me lower my arms earlier on the downswing (I tend to pull rather than slice atm, but I think this is basically caused by the same out-to-in fault) and the notification for this lesson came up!! Great explanation and drill: Can’t wait to try this on the range. Thanks Andy 👍👍

I actually saw this get talked about on another video, Andy. Because i used to be a slicer, one of my club pros showed me something a bit different. It works, but it is involved. I was taught to open my stance by moving the trail foot back two inches. Make sure I had a neutral grip and then hit it. I have to be careful how I am aiming mind you. It's not quite 25 handicap proof in my case. lol 😁

Hey, Andy. Great video as always! My biggest issue is shifting my weight way too much in the downswing and getting too far in front of the ball. My golf coach said it's a rare problem but how can I fix it? Any drills? Thanks either way!

really stuck with the club face open on this drill and when I close it, i have change my swing path to an O-I... 6+ degrees... really struggle getting the club face square without rotating the shoulders sooner.. Arghh.. this game is maddening sometimes.. but cant get enough of it!

I'll give this a crack. Would the drill work the same with other clubs? And any chance ya could do a vid explaining the different shoulder loading for each shot type? I've heard Pete Cowen talk about it and 3 different spirals, draw fade and straight but never actually seen him explain exactly how to do it. Thanks 👍🙂

great stuff again
@mplunky1 Жыл бұрын
Hi does this mean that the very 1st move in the downswing sequence is the arms down 1st before any pressure shift to the front foot?. Does the Pete Cowen 'spiral' sequence mean that the (upper) arms is the 1st move down & not the opposite (unspiraling from ground up). Also is the lead arm pulling or trail arm hitting/pushing ti achieve this?. Many thanks for this video.

@@andycartergolf based on tittle and picture of video thumbnail I expected to see Mr Cowan in the video . Other on line teachers who have him in the tittle actually show some of the lesson they had with him. Danny Maude for example. Your showing us what you learned not your lesson. Two different things. I’m sure there is value in you explaining what you learned but this video was my introduction to you . I had searched on Pete Cowan and felt misled hence the comment. Thanks for responding tells me you probably didn’t expect viewers to take it this way I did.
