Hank Hill is the American Spirit we SHOULD have. As straight arrow as you can be and 100% genuine. There’s people he don’t understand, or care for, but he he’s far from hateful. Trustworthy almost to the point of monotony but that’s a good thing. Cares more about a job well done than wealth and always deals square. Hard to believe he’s from the same fella that made Beavis & Butthead.
@chegadesuade

@@NotALiberalSoSkipTheScript I fully agree, and that was the best description of traditional American values I've ever read. I think Mike Judge had alot of sympathy for the traditional American spirit when he made the show, Hank is sometimes out of his element but he never looks like a fool, he's a natural leader and a man of integrity. I remember in an interview Mike said he made Beavis and Butthead because that's how he pictured modern American teenagers; I like to think he made King of the Hill to honor the previous generations.

A lot of students don't learn the same way others do. It took me going into the Navy to discover I learn best through practice rather than theory, because I'd never really had the opportunity to try anything differently. Sure I had a few teachers that were able to get through to me, but by that point, I was so set against the school system that I was never going to be able to bring myself to care enough to actually put in any real effort. I was going to go to massage school last year, but I think you can guess how that wasn't going to happen. It would have been nice to learn something by doing, and actually learning it.

Sure, you might need calculus in your adult life, you are probably going to need a basic understanding of biology, but you are absolutely guaranteed going to need what you learn from Home Ec and Shop. Every person should know their way around a basic tool box, common kitchen supplies, how to use household appliances. Peggy's grand beliefs about her ability are indeed not stupidity (by themself) but delusion. Because of that though I'm pretty sure she doesn't get chances to actually develop her skills because she's already satisfied with something mediocre and she has to in fact defend it and 'prove' its great, since not doing so would shatter her belief. She stuck committed to being only what she already is in order to ironically feel special. Something something "I am a teacher, I've already done my learning"

Preach. Shop shows you that you can build something with your own hands. That with a little forethought and planning you can make some pretty neat shit. Home ev helps give those household skills that, sadly, not everyone has. Cooking is honestly fun. Check balancing? Not so much but it is needed.

I hated how this episode had no positive resolution. Just Peggy bragging about herself in silence in front of a crowd that cheered not for her but for Hank

@@mortson978 the music is part of my dream, the other parts include my channel that I’m currently trying to make bigger with health/gardening content and setup a lot homemade hydroponic systems so I can help my community during this pandemic by providing organic produce that hasn’t been sprayed down with a lot of chemicals like a lot of produce in most grocery stores

@@ryannichols9452 alright, that sounds cool, I certainly wouldn't call it useless. I will caution you about turning your hobby into your job. It's a great way to not enjoy your hobby anymore. Regardless, I hope you do well in your ventures.
