Their ability to reference season 1 episodes in later seasons in a way that totally affects the plot and leaves no holes is unbelievable. That aside the continuity of things like Brock's chest plate, 21's Tattoos, Rusty's new speed suit or damages to the sets are always shown to still be there in the background for the sharp eyed fans.

You're right. Considering Cotton's a WWII veteran and Tilly's age, they could be older parents. But with him and Bill being on the same football team, as their cultural tastes and dislikes. Bill is listed as being born in 1957, which means the youngest Hank could be between in 1997-1999 is 37. Also, Fidel's last two New York visits were 1959 and 1960. Add in their parenting dynamic with Bobby, you'd get the sense that they are not very close to his age range. I'm also looking at the parents and teachers in Beavis & Butthead and Daria. Most are in their 30s to 50s. The Hills look much older than other Thirtysomething, and considering their sedentary lifestyle. They'd look much younger, and I am aware people age, differently. Given the social, historical, and cultural cues provided by the creator and his original intent. Realistically, they'd be in their mid 40s to early 50s. I've yet to find fans who thought that they were or should be thirty. I see why Mike Judge was frustrated by that at the time. *facepalm* at Fox, once again.
