So, I went to the Opry when Kacey Musgraves was up and coming. People were VERY visibly disturbed when she sang lines like "Kiss lots of girls, if that's something you're into," or even "roll up a joint," coming from the mouth of a this fairly young girl just really didn't jive well with those disconnected from current cultural norms. I can only IMAGINE how they reacted to 3's version of musical genius. 😝

badboy4948 I wouldn't go that far, they CAN sing it, some of their earliest hits *Indian Outlaw, That's Why I'm Here, and Shoulda Been a Cowboy for ex.* had a healthy dose of the fiddle and the steel string, sadly once they started getting popular they had to start following more of the pop mainstream to STAY popular. Even the 80's and early 90's stayed truer to traditional country music then the last decade and a half. No more twang and yodeling to staple the genre together. :(

The one and only time to be sure. F*ck the Opry! Mother Maybelle Carter tried to have Duane Eddy, who was in town recording, to come on stage with her to play a couple of tunes. Duane and his sax player, Stephen Douglas, were attached at the hip and he goes on stage with Duane. They stopped them as the saxophone is an instrument of the Devil and not allowed on stage at the Opry. Duane was forced to respectfully decline the invitation. They're acknowledging the 50th anniversary of Hank Williams' death here but have not re-instated him and have impersonators of him walking around the place. TOTAL fucks!!! Just like it says on my shirt!
