He always tickles me because you can't get any more country or hillbilly than Hank with an added yodel How great is that never will be anything else again like this.

From his 2nd album, "Moanin' The Blues", from 1952, Hank had 4 Number 1 hits, including this on the Billboard Hot Country charts, from this album. His wonderful baritone voice, trained to not sing with microphones or any type of application gave him a strong projection. Hank always sang honest songs about his life with a straight forward approach. The instruments are so enjoyable, with the fiddles and the yodeling displaying the great old fashion country values. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Uncle Phil.👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

That is it. The honkytonk moan. His son used this in his music a lot. Songs like Hotel Whiskey even say as much.

Wow this brings back memories. I bought a Hank Williams Greatest Hits double album on cassette in the Navy Exchange when I got out of A school back in 79 and drove my old 56 chevy step side pickup across country to my first duty station in south Texas. I just about wore the tape out in my old pioneer stereo and could sing every song by the time I got there. 😊

This song here and Kaw Liga were the only songs where he worked with drums.

I have always loved how country music so often offers the musicians an opportunity to to shine. And Hank had some of the top musicians of his day in his band. His steel guitar player is unmatched even after all these years.
