This was Hank's first hit at #6 on the Country charts in 1946. Bill Haley also recorded this song before Rock around the Clock came out,

I was a year and a half old when Hank passed but my childhood was spent listening to Hank. He had so many great songs

Hank was the first rock star. He was rock and roll before there was rock and roll. Check out his live Opry recordings sometime, they're fantastic!

according to google, "The saying originates from the act of punishing a dog by making him leave the home, banishing him to the outdoors - to his doghouse."

Hey Don, I know you ussually don't do follow ups, but for fun can you try ' (Who is ) The Girl on the Billboard' and the lesser known 'I am the girl on the billboard' ? Trucker era
@mamakittyluvsjesus Жыл бұрын
Wow thats a fun classic I agree that would be a good one
@dennisking7872 Жыл бұрын
Before Don can react to a follow-up, he has to hear the original by Del Reeves - "Girl on the Billboard." That's a classic!

Neither he nor Lonesome George sound particularly sorry about any of it in their respective versions of this. By the way, this is 1947!

Is it true Hank died drunk singing I see the light , and was saying I can’t see the light , I can’t see the light , in the back of his caddy??
