Great review! Needed tires in a hurry on my 4.0 Tacoma and every shop I stopped at was out of Falken Wildpeak ATW's so settled for these and saved some money. Loving them so far after 6 months. Appearance is more rugged than the older Dynapro ATM as well.

The Hankook AT2 that comes with the F150 is not the same AT2 that you buy at Discount Tire. They're made cheaper and worse on the ones that come off the dealership for the F150.

The tires provided by the manufacturer when purchasing a car are OE tires, and the tires sold at tire stores are RE tires. OE tires usually focus on fuel efficiency and quietness, while RE tires focus on performance such as grip.

Consumer Reports is a little less dramatic ... "To see whether siping makes any difference, we tested two performance all-season models, an H-rated Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus and a V-rated Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S, with and without siping. The siped version of both models showed modest but measurable improvements in snow-traction and ice-braking performance. But braking distances on wet and dry pavement were a few feet longer"

I don't get this video at all claiming it won't last. I ran my atms to 100k and still good tread left. Just the sidewall started cracking. My fault running them that long but they looked great. And the at2 is supposed to be its predecessor 🤷‍♂️

I agree on the siping. My 2021 f-150 I have 12k on the AT2s and the outer siping is gone already and the outside blocks seem to wear fast and no alignment issues and I live up in Buffalo,NY and we get a good amount of snow up here and honestly I say these tires suck in the snow and they are ok in the rain but can’t say for off-road traction. I had a 2019 f150 with Goodyear HT on them from factory that did better and then I put an MT tire on afterwards and was able to drive in practically 2wd all the time in deep snow.
@douglasdever6134
@douglasdever6134 5 ай бұрын
Yes they are quiet, yes when new they get good traction in snow. Only good thing is chances are they will fail before the siping is gone and you have replaced them with a decent type of tire. Good looking? Not ugly, but noting to jump up and down for. Cheap tire, car manufactures are using because they do ride ok, are quiet, and have decent traction.

Good overview/insight! I'm trying to determine if it's worth it to change out the OEM Hankook Dynapro AT2 tires that came w/my 2021 F150 Lariat/FX4 for the Michelin Defenders LTX M/S? I live in N. Georgia and do try and get up into the mtns of NC during the winter.

The mich r supposed to last a suoer kong time so that is one maj different. Based on that criteria if you don't drive a lot and thus risk hitting the dry rot lifespan of the tire sooner than you do the tread wear for mileage, then you'd want to get the hankooo

Hi Dan, wondering if you have an update on this review. I have a set of these on a 19 Titan, with 24k on them. Live in PA, get every season, plenty of rain, snow, and ice - on hilly terrain. Unless you're driving in Texas/Arizona, these tires absolutely suck. Just this past weekend, I fishtailed in light rain, going uphill from a stop sign, mild acceleration, and the traction control kicked in at 15 mph on asphalt. I was nearly going backwards and afraid I'd get rear ended. Wet slippage is a CONSTANT PROBLEM with these tires since I put 5k on them. Wife won't drive my truck unless the sun is beating down. I'm looking to get rid of these garbage tires immediately. They are dangerous and 100% would not recommend buying to anyone. I've driven trucks/suvs for 30 years under the same conditions and these tires are the worst I've ever owned, hands down. I'm occasionally off-road, but not "off-roading". #1 concern is wet/winter weather. I also sometimes use a tow-behind plow in the winter if the snow is heavy enough (non-commercial). Any tire recommendations to keep myself and family safe?

Got these on my 2021 F150 and the outer edges, both outside and inside are worn out at just 8,000 miles for the front wheels. I'm at a disbelief and thought something is wrong with my alignment of my brand new truck, nope. Thought it is an under inflation thing, nope, door panel says keep it at 35 PSI and I have mine at 37 just in case. Why are they wearing out so fast?!?!?!
