Sorry it was 1950, I thought it was 1952. The years kind of blend these days. Hank was wearing a knee brace and it jingled to him singing. Like I said after hanging out with him backstage ( My Dad ) said it was the best concert he ever saw. Have a great summer everyone and may God bless you even more than He has already done.

I had a big crush on Hank Sr. When I was a child. My mom had two of his albums and I listened to them a lot. It wasn't until I was about 12 years old that I found out he had died three years before I was born! I cried like I had lost a dear friend that day. I'm 68 years old now and still loving him in Feb of 2024.

Music that really transcends time, Im a 25 year old man and i grew up with these songs cause my dad and grandpa would play them when we'd work, and they'd sing along we'd all have a little concert lol. Great memories with all these songs.

Pass that on brother. Not the music. The camaraderie. Have a son just so you can work with him. Otherwise you're family tradition is finished. This world won't let us good men have anything. Take that particular thing right there and make it yours and your sons. Teach him to do the same. This is the way

Thank god he fucked hank 3s grand ma or we would have no hank 3!!! Hank 1 and 3 are all that matters Hank the 2nd is a shit father and a prolific wife and spouse abuser. He treated his son in Hank 3 like shit. They havent spoken since hank 3s grad from high school. The WILLIAMS FAMILY LEGACY LIVES ON THRU HANK 3 AND HANK 3S KIDS. HANK 3 CONNECTED THE DOTS BETWEEN COUNTRY,PUNK AND METAL and UNITED OUR TRIBES FOREVER. THE FIRST MUSIC I EVER HEARD AND MY EARLIEST MEMORIES FROM LIKE THE AGES OF 2 TO 5 ARE NOTHING BUT OG OUTLAW COUNTRY LIKE HANK 1 AND JOHNNY CASH,MERL HAGGARD, WILLIE NELSON,THE RAMONES,DEAD BOYS,SUBHUMANS(VANCOUVER) NOT THE UK SUBHUMANS ALL THOUGH I GOT INTO THEM WAY LATER,BLACK SABBATH,MINOR THREAT,BLACK FLAG, THE CIRCLE JERKS,SNFU,DOA(MY DAD WAS THE 2ND EVER DRUMMER OF VANCOUVERS VERY OWN HARDCORE PUNK LEGENDS DOA AND MY MOM PLAYED IN CANADAS ONLY EVER ALL GIRL HARDCORE PUNK BAND CALLED THE DISHRAGS MY MOM WAS 12 WHEN HER AND HER TO NEIGHBORS KIDS DAUGHTERS FORMED AN ALL GIRL HARDCORE PUNK BAND AT 12 AND 13 YRS OF AGE A BAND THAT BLACK FLAG AND MOST OF THE 1980S HARDCORE SCENE WHERE AFRAID OF PLAY8NG WITH. THAT HOW MY PARENTS MET ONE ANOTHER. IM KINDA PUNK ROCK ROYALTY 👑! I've been playing myself in punk and metal bands for close to 30 yrs I just turned 40 in March. My parents where also friends with NYCs BEASTIE BOYS of hip hop fame but they started as an 80s hardcore punk band before 5hey rapped. They even had a girl drummer! So my parents also got me into Og hip hop and I came along in 1984 and grew up in the 90s which we all know is the golden yrs of hip hop. Anyway stay cool homies!

Look at the gentle ease how he switches from one chord to the next, there's art in that. What strikes me most is the raw simplicity and beauty of these songs, how they draw other musicians around him that is at the font of country music. Playing together like they used to as groups and communities with nothing to do with making money or exploitation.

"Cold, Cold Heart" I tried so hard,my dear,to show that you're my every dream Yet you're afraid each thing I do is just some evil scheme A memory from your lonesome past keeps us so far apart Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart? Another love before my time made your heart sad and blue And so my heart is paying now for things I didn't do In anger, unkind words are said that make the teardrops start Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart? You'll never know how much it hurts to see you sit and cry You know you need and want my love, yet you're afraid to try Why do you run and hide from life, to try it just ain't smart Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart? There was a time when I believed that you belonged to me But now I know your heart is shackled to a memory The more I learn to care for you, the more we drift apart Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart?

I agree with those commenters who say the best part of this video is Hank's singing. Could we just see Hank's performance without the scenery overlays? There are so few clips of Hank Williams' actually performing that I am mesmerized watching him.

While attending George Washington University in D.C. in 1969 my friends and I attended a party where we took a break from Rock and Soul music and listened to some country albums my best friend had brought. I’d never heard of Hank as he sang Dear John, Cold Cold Heart, and Honky Tonk Woman but the simplicity of his lyrics and emotion captured my heart. He seemed like a country Bob Dylan I thought. This was followed by Jonny Cash’s Folsom Prison album. Another by Waylon Jennings and ending with Willie Nelson. Listening to this track brought back all those wonderful memories. “Move it on over Hip-Hop💞!!!
