Hey Clarice, What an amazing tribute to my favorite cartoonists William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. I watched most of their cartoons on Saturday mornings in the early 1960's. My favorite of course back then and today are The Flintstones. It was heart warming to see so many I once enjoyed as a child. When you showed the passing of these two amazing men and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir started singing it just broke my heart. Their beautiful voices were a perfect addition to what you created here. Thanks again for sharing this so that others may reflect on the great times gone by. Take Care! Jim

Thank you so much for this post. I have always been a big fan of hanna -barbera and have collect some of their cartoons. The Flintstones has always been my favorite of all times. I watched pebbles and bamm bamm go from babies to teens to adults and parenthood. and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is one of my favorite choirs by the way nice song .

They should transform the Hanna Barbera studios into a museum along with them putting statue figures of Bugs Bunny that says 6 Flags on his platform, along with the HB Tom and Jerry, and the DC Comics Superman

I agree with you about the museum, but Bugs Bunny and the DC superheroes have nothing to do with Hanna-Barbera, the reason why she put the DC superheroes in this video, is because Hanna-Barbera made an adaptation for TV based on the comics, but they are not Hanna-Barbera creations.

To clarify, Captain Planet was originally animated by DIC. But, after the third season, Hanna-Barbera took over the animation.

Scooby Doo, Where Are You! (1969) was the last Hanna-Barbera production I watched when it originally aired. I quit watching their cartoons after that, because networks forced them to remove all the violence and action...making Saturday morning cartoons extremely lame, boring and unwatchable. Hanna-Barbera were at their best throughout the 1960's, and Tom & Jerry's theatrical cartoons were out of this world.

Let me test some of you h-b fans memory banks there was a series called the adventures of huckleberry fin in which h-b introduced the first show that had live characters mixed with animation. huck fin,tom sawyer,becky thatcher were the live characters but everything else including the background was animated. That was a cool show done in the late 60s and I have it as part of my h-b collection. I don’t believe you’ll find this show as part of the Warner home video h-b collection series.
