My tool to take the probe out broke , I love this ph meter but can I replace the plastic tool? Other wise this hurts my thumbs too much :( I love this ph meter but like I said to have to use my fingers to take the prope out every morning it’s breaking down my skin I need the plastic tool where can I get it ??????!:(

How do I actually initiate the quick cal? If I hold my power/mode for 6 seconds it will take me to what says Quick Cal and I’m not sure what to do after or how to confirm it’s been calibrated. Using quick cal solution and the H198131

Just bought one. What is “buffer” & I don’t need Ec/TDS , I need ppm. how do I get PPM reading? What am I setting at .2, .500 , .7? I don’t understand

How do I charge my ph combo pen? It says the battery is at 90 and my older pen is still at a hundred?

What is the difference when using the 2 points pH calibation solutions (4.01 and 7.01 for instance), and when using the quick calibration solution? Does it give more accurate measurements when using 2 points calibration? When using the 2 points calibration solutions, does it calibrate the EC meter also? Or should we do both methods?
@HannaInc5 жыл бұрын
Hello! Quick Cal is a 1 point calibration for both pH and EC at the same time. The standard 4 and 7 buffers are for pH only. Quick Cal Accuracy is ±.02. Standard pH 4&7 buffers are accurate to ±.01. So if you're looking for ±.01 more accuracy, or for faster calibration for both pH and EC within a ±.02 accuracy, we got you covered!

why the HI98130 has a EC range 0.00 - 20.00 mS/cm and the new version HI98131 has a CE range 0.00 - 6.00 mS/cm?

I've recently got this model . Is it good idea to leave the electrode in a 2-3 molar KCl solution for several days between each pH test? if so, dose it need heavy cleaning before each test? I have two marks on a glass containing KCl solution. one of them shows 3 molar and the other shows 2 molar KCl solution. as water evaporates I add DI water to reach 2 molar KCl solution once again. Am I OK with this plan? if so, is this 2-3M the best choice or there is a better one like 2.5-3.5M?

My HI98129 combo tester shows a different PPM than my Gro Line HI98131. 98129 shows around 700 PPM and the 98131 shows around 1000 PPM. They are both calibrated. Does it have something to do with conversion ratios?
@HannaInc5 жыл бұрын
Hi Tee. It does sound like a conversion factor issue. What are you testing?
@tee2285 жыл бұрын
thanks for replying. I'm testing tap water with a small amount of nutrients.
@HannaInc5 жыл бұрын
Ok. First make sure the conversion factors of the meters are the same. Also, try to test it against a known solution like pH 4 or 7 buffer. There are some other factors that can lead to inaccuracies like temp compensation settings.. but try the buffers first once you've confirmed the conversion factors are the same. If it still seems off, contact tech@hannainst.com They'll take care of you if something is wrong. Let us know how it goes!

Can I use HI50036 buffer solutions many times? I mean I want to reuse it. Can I?
@HannaInc5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mariny. The sachets that come with the meter are intended to be for one use, however if you're getting accurate readings using it multiple times, you should be alright. Once opened, the buffer will be affected over time.

Hanna Instruments, Inc. thank you so much 😊 for your response. So, I should order buffer more to calibrate my instrument. Because buffer with meter is not enough. Thank you again

I’ve had my meter sitting in the quick cal solution for 10 min and it is not calibrating. What am I able to do to fix this issue?
@nickcam43366 жыл бұрын
Also it is not reading the ph 7 and ph 4 solutions correct neither
@HannaInc6 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick. How old is the meter? Some important things to remember with pH electrodes are they are made with porous glass layers that require hydration. This is why we always recommend leaving storage solution in your electrode or meter cap. The glass can easily be revived by leaving it in electrode cleaning solution for about 15 minutes, and then storage solution for 1-2 hours. Do you have these solutions for your meter?
@tee2285 жыл бұрын
I read in the manual that if storage solution isn't available then store in pH 4 solution, is that okay for long term?

Cant change mine to cal standard its reads clr when trying to change it from quick to standard?
@HannaInc6 жыл бұрын
Hi Shawn. the Clr message you are getting is from being in calibration mode. In order to change your calibration mode, youll want to press the MODE button for 6 seconds. You'll see your EC Unit setting, which is the first option in the settings menu. Once you're there, hit the mode button again and you can change between CAL standard and Quick by pressing the SET/HOLD button.

How do I calibrate conductivity tho searched the everywhere and it’s something no one at Hanna covers
@HannaInc4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rick! The cool thing about these testers is the quick cal solution calibrates pH and conductivity at the same time. If you want to calibrate conductivity by itself, put the tester in ppm mode. To do this, hit the SET/HOLD button while on the measurement screen. Once in ppm mode, hold the MODE button for 3 seconds until you see CAL on the screen. Release the button and it will put you into conductivity calibration.
