Yes. Dan does NOT use autotune. I'm a musician and I occasionally produce from time to time. He is layering his vocal tracks.If you want autotune, listen to T-Pain. There's your example. That "unusual" sound that you hear in Starbomb or NSP is his vocal layering. He is harmonizing with himself. It's not pitch corrected. It's just two Dannys singing at the same time.

Lots of artists use it as simply a style thing, whether it be for techno, ambient, etc. In fact, in the way that some autotune works, you still have to hit those notes for the autotune to register what note you're trying to hit anyway. Still, I admire the fact that Danny uses his raw voice for his music.

Auto-Tune corrects flats notes and odd noises from a singer's voice. Thus the name. If used incorrectly (or not meant to be), it can give the singer a robotic voice of sorts. This is how remixers can take audio clips from GG and make it sound like they're singing when they weren't. Double track is when a singer sings two different pitch versions of the same song. It doesn't correct the voice though. So if Danny can't sing high pitch notes, adding another pitch to the song wont fix it. The difference is that anyone can auto-tune but not everyone can double track. To say having two voices on the same track is auto tune is almost like saying a quartet group is auto tune.
