"Charlie" is short for "Victor Charlie" which is how you say "VC" in NATO Phonetic Nomenclature. So no, it's not racist (since it refers to a faction rather than a race). The Viet Cong were pro-northern/communist military forces operating in South Vietnam and Cambodia. They had both regular and guerrilla units. with out the navy the air force would not be able to move nearly as far and the infantry would be at risk of shelling by near shorelines as well as a significantly harder time moving. with out the air force information in lost in the fog of war, any and all missions would be a blind attack and the infantry would once again have a impossible time moving. but with out the infantry the navy is protecting little more then a whole lot of water and some wet sand and the air force is under constant threat of ground to air missile fire. the armed forces are all critical to each other this ludicrous and childish bickering between the three main branches only proves to me how little american actually respect the thing that protects there "freedom".

I actually have this game on my NES, my dad got it when he was in college back in the 80s, and me and my friend played it when he came over. What followed was, just, not good, at one point the music played the same note for a good two minutes before muting after we died, followed by the text, you're history. At that point the game had a seizure and we had to reset, at which point there was no text except the title and copyright info on the bottom, and when we pressed start we got a black screen, reset, gray screen, reset, green. At that point we just gave up, the game sucked anyway.

Funny story related to Platoon: about 7-8 years ago when I was in high school, while a class was watching the movie, one of the students butt-dialed his mom.
