This video goes out-of-focus somewhere in the middle and at the time of filming, I didn’t know why. It’s never happened before! Upon further investigation, I discovered that Zeke left a bit of spit on the lens when he rubbed his face on the camera earlier in the video 🤦🏼‍♀️ I BLAME ZEKE. This is the price we pay for cat cameos, I guess 😂 I’ll make sure to wipe my lens off next time and it won’t happen again! Thanks for bearing with me!

Regarding the 2nd story with Pure Romance and the Bridezilla, my heart went out to these young ladies in the bridal party who felt pressured by a tacky bride. My own daughter had a similar experience with the same kind of tantrum and “if you don’t, you’re OUT of the wedding.” Well, she texted her momma. 😅 I told her that unless this was a “friendship” she thought was valuable to stand up and walk out, and I would repay her for everything she spent on her bridesmaid dress and shoes, and she could do whatever she wanted with it. This brat of a bride had been such of a monster for so long that my baby decided this was her ENOUGH moment. She got up and left, and two other bridesmaids joined her. Best $500 I ever spent, transferring that money to my daughter’s Venmo and knowing that Bridezilla was going to have to scramble for more victi- I mean, bridesmaids. 🥳💪🏼 #mommabear

Story 3: I really hope nothing like that ever happens to anyone, but if someone shows up at a wake or memorial service who is unwelcome (especially when that someone is so obviously soliciting) you as a family member do not need to engage. Find a staff member for the funeral home/church and tell them to remove the person. The confrontation doesn’t have to fall on you and the unwelcome person doesn’t need to know you asked for them to be removed. That was absolutely unhinged behavior and funeral home staff will protect their grieving families when needed.
@Acinnn
@Acinnn Жыл бұрын
thus reminds me when my aunt died her college ( as she claimed) showed up and inserted herself even into out private dinner we had at home after the funeral. She wasn't "hun" but probably was part of some cult or some weird religion that morfed Christianity with Buddhism, talking about reincarnation of Jesus or some angels. She took the spot lite for the whole time.. talking about all sorts of things. She even went with us when we went place the urn to family grave. Only good thing that she did is that we weren't annoyed by our other aunt that usually tries to dictate to others how they should live their lives.
@MarionThiessen

I am a funeral director, and this is unfortunately common. Families warn us that a certain someone might arrive who is not welcome, and we usually ask for a family member to come get should the person arrive to talk to them and ask them to leave without making it a scene.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 25 years ago. I cannot urge you strongly enough to see an endocrinologist, not a GYN for treatment. PCOS is rooted in hyperinsulinism. BC pills control the symptoms but not the underlying cause, and are NOT adequate as a treatment. PCOS affects not just fertility, but has an impact on your lifelong health. It's important to treat the root cause.

Omg, story 2 happened to me (sort of). It was my bachelorette party that a friend of mine had planned for me. I thought we were just getting together for dinner, conversation, and games. When I walked into the house, there was a Pure Romance rep set up in the living room. The rep was a classmate of ours from high school. I had to sit through the presentation while sitting between my mother and my other friend's grandmother. My brother's fiancee was in attendance and would give details on how she would use the products. It was awkward. Completely awkward. At the end of the night, the rep took people into a different room to get their orders and made sure to state that *I* would be getting the hostess credits to pick things out "for the honeymoon". I let the 'friend' who set the party up keep the hostess "benefits". I don't talk to her much anymore. That party was definitely nothing like me or my interests.

Story One made me sad when she said that Amway Predators were the only ones striking up conversations with random people. This is something my partner and I often do when we're out at restaurants or pubs with the staff or other patrons and to think that there is probably a lot of folks out there who wonder when we're going to Show Them The Plan or whatever Amway calls it these days. I can't help but think that having all these MLMers out there treating everyone they encounter like a potential mark has had its own negative impact on our society.

Oh, oh! I have a Mary Kay-adjacent anecdote! Went to the pet store the other day, located along a strip mall. I spotted a pink Mary Kay. car and parked next to it, wondering what store the Mary Kay lady was in. Inside the shop, I suddenly got a hard hit of fragrance..something that practically screamed " Your Elderly Aunt Helen". Kind of old and rancid smelling and way too much of it. I had found her! I followed the smell til I located the woman in question. She was in her late fifties, and had perfectly coiffed , shortish, helmet hair, kind of like a flight attendant in the 70's. And some kind of "tasteful" outfit involving a cardigan that immediately put me to sleep. Even so, this was a thrilling sighting of this species in the field!

As a fellow content creator, I totally understand the frustration of having a video go out of focus while filming...and what I do isn't easy to be "redone"--it's fiber art. Once it's done, it's not easy to UN-do and start again. I'm actually doing some embroidery right now, listening like a podcast and watching for your kitties out of the corner of my eye. Not sure if you've already had your baby, but I hope it goes well and that you get as much rest as you can in the first couple of weeks. It's rough, but you'll get through it.

Long story short, she flossed up to my mother in the driveway at their house. I saw my mom talking to a woman I didn't recognize, with a weird look on her face. I was so shocked that I couldn't think of a thing to say.

I am suddenly very thankful that my aunt is only in pampered chef and not a health or oil mlm lol Like any MLM is bad but thank god she's not pushing dangerous products on us. Well i guess knives are dangerous. Whatever. I'm kind of surprised that she never tried recruiting us but maybe she's just the kind of person who sells the stuff

Thank you for another wonderful video! If the person who keeps seeing Amway/various MLM huns in the grocery store happens to see this -- most chain stores at least have no soliciting/recruiting policies. On your way out, you can quietly point them out to an employee and they'll probably be asked to leave. I feel like summoning the inner Karen is alright in this situation, since they're actively looking for people to scam.

DoTerra Tampon: I gasped and almost cried. I don’t have PCOS but a similar issue that causes severe pain, got on birth control at 17 and never a problem again. I am SO RELIEVED she did not use this oil, and instead did get her BC. But I am frustrated about the wasting of money and then the manipulation of the church members. This serves as a reminder of why we need to be honest in some cases, because the temporary discomfort of being honest about the oils is not worth the longer discomfort of financial hits and harming other women who did use this treatment. Of course, this is not to shame the person who wrote in. She was a teen who was manipulated, and she feels bad already. This is just a reminder for anyone else!

A smaller-sized tampon on a lighter day would be fine being in for 8 hours. Most people don’t wake up in the middle of the night to change one. I know you’re probably just concerned, but your advice isn’t quite right. 8 hours is about the max suggested, but that is also using the most caution.

I worked for a company that went into administration and was eventually liquidated. In the interim, we were wrapping our operations up and selling off remaining stock. A man approached me saying that I had great customer service manner, and that he had a "business opportunity" for me (Red Flag #1), since I was about to be out of work. I accepted his invitation to an informal meeting over coffee (Red Flag #2), and as soon as I sat down he similarly whipped out a catalogue of products and began his pitch about how I can "work for myself" and that I'd be "buying these household products monthly anyway" -- my chest got tight and I stopped listening. I felt ridiculous for not seeing the initial red flags and realizing he was probably an MLM hun. The best part is, he left in a hurry and I had to pay for BOTH our coffees. 'Predatory' is an apt term for these people. I wish I could have sympathy for these people, but I really do not. Preying on vulnerable people, wasting their time and then sticking them with the bill is a really shitty thing to do.

Hi Zeke, my kitten LOVES you! His name is Snoopy, I adopted him out of the Humane Society. He's five months old, lively and is in his carrier for knocking my late Maltese's Fish's Food and EATING IT! No worries, he'll spin a different story for grandma and his two older cousins when he goes over to their apartment next door tomorrow! I'm HOPING he learned fish food is NOT for kittens and yes he gets treats and a mix of wet and dry food. Wet food left over from my maltese who passed on Valentines Day from a Heart Attack.

The first story (I think that was the one) about Amway reminded me about when I was in Amway our up line told us if we didn't have more friends and family to prospect then we needed to go find other people and the best way to do that was to meet people at the grocery store. We were told the best wY to get the most out of these "opportunities" was to buy our groceries 2-3 items at a time. That way you could stand in line and talk to more people and collect more phone numbers.

I have sensitive lady bits, and I found out that my crippling cramps were from the chemicals in your traditional pads, so I need to use organic/cloth pads. One of the brands I tried (the honey pot) had MENTHOL in the pads! You ever want that Listerine feeling DOWN THERE? Because I don't recommend it! Putting undiluted essential oils not only down there, but INSIDE you? That's insane.

Oddly, the situation of making a new friend only to find out it was to sell you something and if you don't buy they drop you like a hot potato has happened to me several times but with religion. When we moved to a new neighborhood, our neighbors were the nicest people ever. They even brought over a full sized Cheesecake Factory cheesecake (not cheap!) and said we'd have to get together once we were all moved in. Super nice people. Then she brought over a flier for her mega church. I told her no thank you, we weren't looking for a church, she left and they never spoke to us again. Fifteen years we've been neighbors and they won't even acknowledge me or wave back when I see them in the yard. I wish I could say this was the only time that's happened. It seems some churches operate a lot like mlms.

A lot of scammers do the compliment thing; it's something about getting you to think well of them right off the bat. When I was a cashier, we'd sometimes have people try to pay with fake bills or pull the 'you shorted my change' thing. All of them - at least all that I specifically remember - started the transaction with a compliment and most tried to keep up a litany of flattery-littered conversation as a distraction.

I've been reading the book "The Gift of Fear" and it talks about how someone approaching you in public is always more likely to be a threat than those who don't. (Not always a threat, just more LIKELY to be so) It's mainly talking about women's safety around men, but I think it makes sense for many situations, since someone approaching you will typically want something from you, whether their intentions are malicious or not.
