If you liked Tom Ellis' (Lucifer) singing, he does a bunch of it in the show. I'm sure most of the songs are around KZbin. Also, the story makes a lot more sense when you're aware that in the previous episode, Lucifer somehow got the idea that he's incapable of actual love. So he's worried about his relationship with Chloe, and blames God for making him incapable of loving her. Also God put Chloe directly in Lucifer's path for him to fall for, so that's why he's so mad at him. Another thing to point out is that one of the big themes of the show is that Lucifer is NOT evil; he's misunderstood. He has a few moments throughout the show where he gets really upset because everyone thinks he's evil, when all he is is the ruler of Hell. He doesn't make anyone do anything, and yet the world blames all their evils on him. He did try to lead a rebellion against God eons ago, and failed, so was banished from the Silver City and made ruler of Hell. And his mother just sat back and let it happen. So yeah, dude's got some issues.

32:12 if memory serves: basically, an angel gaslighted god so hard, bro started self actualizing getting weaker. @shootingcomet0822 жыл бұрын
In this show, celestial beings self-actualize, meaning whatever they believe about themselves becomes reality. Michael, Lucifer's identical twin, gaslit God into believing that he was losing his powers. So, because he believed it to be true, he actually began to lose control of his powers. Michael did this to convince his father to retire so he could become the new God. When they found out the truth, God's powers were fixed, but Lucifer had brought his mother back, she and God fixed their relationship issues, and God decided to retire anyway.

So, the whole show is about how Lucifer isn't actually bad. He ruled hell but as not as evil. As someone who punished evil. He became the scape goat for the entire world basically. People expect him to be scary and bad but he's not who people think, even though he still sees himself that way. After centuries of humanity blaming him for every bad thing that's ever happened, he started to blame himself. He's a complicated guy. But also it's fairly simple. He's got daddy issues for sure but his biggest struggle is probably his self hatred. As a die hard Lucifer fan, I'm not even mad about your opinions on it because I'm sure it's quite crazy/hard to follow watching one episode in a later season. It makes a lot more sense and is so good if you watch it from the start. But I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea

@lauraakers3566 Жыл бұрын
This. Lucifer is one of the shows that sounds ridiculous and has no business being as good as it is (especially for the first three seasons). But to come to the conclusion that it's being too heavy is especially funny considering the subject matter. This is a modern day Paradise Lost where the authors are even going to try to pretend that the heavenly are more interesting than the demonic. But you are looking at what is effectively the end of the show. They've spent years building up various relationships and characters to get to this point. Which is why Lucifer acts like an overly hurt child in this episode. He is just like any person whose development was arrested by the abandonment of both parents. He's lashing out. Much like the Buffy musical episode, it is hard to see just how the episode is actually doing a great job (the opening number excepted) of weaving together a LOT of threads that have been in play for a long time if you don't know the backstory.

Now God is losing control of his powers and everyone is singing. 9/10 show. Loved it. And now the questions The people on the field, they are witnesses being questioned by cops. Everyone singing wasn’t supposed to sound amazing. It was supposed to sound like these characters, who aren’t all amazing singers, were singing, not like professional good singers Jesus is not in the show Lucifer didn’t go soft, in the show he was never really evil. Instead he was painted as an evil being and suffers with his identity because he is told he is evil and everyone thinks he is but he isn’t God had a wife who was eventually sent to hell. I wouldn't say Lucifer has ever been scary, tbh. He's more of this snarky quirky guy who loves himself a dirty joke every couple of minutes. But it's also kinda cool. 'Cause the whole premise of the show is that he doesn't want to be scary. He specifically escaped Hell to not have to be scary anymore, he just wanted to have fun and see what life was really about. He's basically a child who's been locked in the house for their entire life, and now they're finally breaking free, and it's absolutely wild at first, and then they settle down, and they find themselves, and they surround themselves with people who make them feel like home, and they start to heal. The biggest point of the show is that Lucifer is very lonely and full of self-loathing, and he finds it hard to accept some parts of himself, like his "devil face" for example. His characteristic trait in the show is not "scary", it's "hurt", and the topic of vulnerability comes along with it, as well as lashing out at people who make him feel insecure. Think Paradise Lost, but glamorous :D Also, that moment with him protecting Chloe with his wings was super badass in context and I detest your laughter /j It was the moment Chloe found out he was actually the Devil (even though he's never tried to hide it, but oh well, 3 seasons of thinking it's a joke or a psychosis, let's go), and he was covering her from the bullets, and his wings got like absolutely destroyed, blood and feathers everywhere, it was brutal, I'm pretty sure I cried. The show's really gone down starting with season 4, I gotta admit. I gotta admit.

This is season 5. And Lucifer has been in therapy for years now so he’s developed quite a lot of humanity that he didn’t have in the beginning. And a lot of characters close to Lucifer have found out the truth.

I will say, don't write this show off just by this musical episode. At least check out the pilot episode, it does a much better job at representing the series😊

1) Yes, your adhd may be getting more prevalent 2) I love your reactions because you are not afraid to just tell it as it is. 3) I love love the tattoos 4) the guy in the blue outfit (who smacked Lucifiers crotch) goes to my church! He is an absolutely FANTASTIC singer- Drew Powell 😊 5) I think I love your videos most because my adhd jives similarly.

Not a full episode, but you should consider reacting to the musical scene "Future Favorite" from DC's Legends of Tomorrow episode "Speakeasy Does It." Lots of Fosse / Chicago / 1920s jazz vibes. HIGHLY recommend.

I definitely recommend watching earlier episodes of Lucifer... by this point, the show had been cancelled and revived a couple of times and it lost a little bit of its continuity and intrigue. But the first three seasons or so are some of my absolute favorite TV. Lucifer is a lot more intimidating in the beginning but as some commenters have said, the point is to debunk some of the religious myths that surround him (that you mentioned in the video) because he's actually a good person who has been forced into this "devilish persona". He's more hedonistic than he is violent or evil. Also! He's got MUCH better vocal moments throughout other episodes of the show. Like right after Chloe first finds out who he is. The plotlines are a lot more interesting and there's a lot more mystery and drama in the first few seasons... this episode is kind of at the point where they had nothing left to do with the characters.
