This is long, but its important. I promise. As I’ve gotten older (I’m almost 29) I’ve had many people come and go. MANY. I always tried to figure out why SO many people always let me down, hurt me, took advantage of me, or just never showed me the mutual respect that friendships should have. And then I remembered what Paul Rudd said in Perks of Being a Wallflower: “We accept the love we think we deserve.” I always wondered if it was me, that I was doing something wrong, because I was the only common denominator. Then i realized it WAS me. I wasn’t choosing to surround myself with people who actually gave a shit about me. I was only seeing the good in people and ignoring the bad. In turn, I think I was only seeing the bad in myself. There’s another quote from Rick and Morty that applies here as well: “But I know how it goes with us. I lose who I am and become part of you. Because in a strange way, you're better at what I do without even trying.” And that really stuck with me too. Hannah is right. At the end of the day, all we have is ourselves. We wake up with ourselves, care for ourselves, and at the end of the day, are alone with ourselves. Its so important to not base our self worth on other people. Its okay to be alone. And its okay to love yourself and who you are. And if you don’t, find out why and see if there are steps you are willing to take to become a version you will. I wasn’t comfortable with myself until a few years ago. But it’s worth it. If anyone is reading this and having a hard time, or feels “completely and utterly alone” (TVD reference 😏) you aren’t. Because you have yourself. Okay i’ve exhausted my inner Emily Dickinson for the day. LOL have a great week everyone🖤

That’s absolutely right . I’ve felt that way until I decide nope I’m keeping friends that have something good to add to my life and I have something good to add to theirs . There’s respect and genuine care . So I have 3 friends that are regular humans . I made Jesus Christ my best friends and never looked back.

Dates with yourself are so important! After finishing my last exam for January today, I went to the bookstore, picked up a book I've been meaning to read for a while, and then headed to my favourite caffé for a coffee and pastry. Honestly, it felt amazing. Love having your vlogs as a constant to end a week on a good note ❤️

It took me 29 years to finally be comfortable enough to do stuff alone. I used to never do the things I wanted to do, if my friends wouldn't do it. But last year was a big turning point for me after being forced to going into NYC alone. I'm from Jersey and had to go into in Brooklyn for something. I had never been to the city alone and was so nervous. I invited all my friends but none were free considering it was a week day. My plan was go in pick up the item and get home. I ended up spending the entire in the city. I had the best day. I hit up a good amount of places I've always wanted to go but never had time for while I was in city. I started doing a lot alone now and have been loving it.

I just took myself on a date to see avatar this week and it was totally worth it. Honestly, I get tired of waiting for everyone's schedule to mesh up. I go to concerts and even vacations myself. If I wait for other people I wouldn't get to do anything.

i love normalising being alone! I've always liked doing things alone mainly bc I was doing it my way haha but especially now when I moved out for uni I find it so important to manage my time alone so I still have fun cuz jeez uni's haaard. but I remember once someone saw me alone in a restaurant and came up to me saying "omg why are you alone? are u okay?" and I was so stunned by their reaction cause I was having a great time and they thought I'm being lonely. Threfore lets just all normalise enjoying our own company cause its a sign we like ourselves and its such a confidence booster!

I’m glad I clicked on this video; seeing how happy you got in all of those little moments put a smile on my face 🥺 this might sound weird but seeing how happy you got, the complete context of the video, it all reminded me of a poem I’d written last year, towards the end of it - to put it simply - it says; “you’re worth your own time” and just seeing how happy you got in all of those small moments - again, sorry if it sounds kinda weird - it inspired me to be happier and do things with myself, somewhere inside me I do want to do things like this but I never end up going through with it, but I hope I can start this year 🥺

I used to be so afraid to go anywhere by myself because of perception. I didn't want to look like the lonely loser girl with no friends or no boyfriend, but that's such a stupid way of thinking on my part. Of course, I started with going to a place alone where no one would see me, which was a movie date, but then I worked my way up to a solo vacation to NOLA, and other than the night time where things were a little scary safety wise, I had THE best time just being able to go, see, and do what I wanted. At the hotel I stayed at, there was the nicest woman at the desk who just understood the assignment and just validated the need for vacations like this in the best way. I am forever grateful I changed my mindset because now the irony of it all is, I have so many more memories, and adventures I've gone on because I'm not staying at home like a sad little woman hoping that someone would ask me out or waiting on a friend to be able to find and do what I love.

11:40 looks like you sat on a single table. That is something that I miss in most restaurants. Because if I go to a place alone and block two seats during rush hour, I feel like the restaurant employees hate me for reducing their revenue by 50%. And at this point, I don't even want to go alone to a restaurant, at least not in the evening. But at noon it's just not the same at feels more like going to a canteen. Also, it just feels different if you are the only one just sitting there without someone to talk to (in a normal restaurant) or if there are others who sit alone (which are almost never).
