You should totally pursue astrobiology! Looking at your previous videos, astronomy & biology seem to greatly interest you. You could totally work at NASA as an astrobiologist and work as a researcher and/or on instruments for current/future space missions that study life on Earth & its potential on other planets/moons. In this case, an expertise in engineering also comes into play. You should totally apply for an internship at NASA during your undergrad to test the waters. That’s what I did but with geology. Just an idea 🤗

I've been looking into that lately! Love that idea!!

Love the comments about grades not being everything!! I'm here for academic content that focuses on the love of learning instead of just making certain number percentages on tests. I've struggled a lot with that in high school and I'm really excited to hopefully break away from it even more in college next year.

I read one chapter of the first Harry Potter book before I had to put it down and wow finally someone who understands what it's like when someone asks you "aRE yOu a SLythERiN OR a hUFFlePUFf" and you have to be nice even though you really want to say "Karen NO you are almost twenty years old please STOP it." Also if you're looking to take your first international trip the **obvious** choice is Montreal. It's only like 2 or 3 hours away. The people speak French, the drinking age is 18, there's cobblestone streets and all sorts of fun things to do. Basically Europe but way cheaper! Biased because I go to school here but hmu if you want travel recommendations.

Hello Hannah, I am an international student from Cameroon that will be studying in Williams College. I have watched all your videos while applying to college and it gave me precious insight on the application process which was totally new to me at the time. Thank you very much. I am KZbinr too and I was wondering if in one of your future videos you could be interviewing international students from Africa on their experience in Dartmouth. Thank you again.

Aw I hope you see this! Definitely give BME another try if you're interested in the curricula. I have my master's in it and although I did wind up in medical school, I went into it with the intentions of pursuing genetic engineering. I went to GW, my fellow graduates work for places like the FDA, CDC, Hopkins or are doing research at university for their PhD. It's a really versatile major, although I'm obviously biased. You'll be successful no matter what you choose!

Would you ever consider Chemical Engineering? I know my college kind of lumps BioEngineering and Chemical Engineering together because they are very similar. They are similar because ChemE is scaling things up with BME is scaling things down. ChemEs also work a lot in pharmaceutical industry

Can someone explain what imposter syndrome is?
@yj61185 жыл бұрын
RAWR XD when you feel like you’re not smart/competent enough to be where you are/who you are etc. For example, feeling like you’re not smart enough to be a bio major even though you’re not necessarily doing poorly or struggling to learn the material. In a way it can also be worried that others are more qualified than you.
@Josemanuel-sv8xq5 жыл бұрын
Yaritza Jimenez oh I see! A part of it could be seeing your classmates learning the material relatively quick and you may learn at a slightly slower pace, so it creates this whole mentality on why do you even bother going to this school?

Hi Hannah, I’m a freshman this year, and I’m taking Pre-Calculus H, Biology H, and American History 2 H. Next year will be the first year that AP classes are offerred to me, so I have a TON of questions (naturally😁). I am eligible for AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, and APUSH. I will also be doubling up on science by taking Chemistry H. In your opinion, is this doable? Is this combination too hard? If so, should I consider not taking APUSH next year? How much time do you think homework would take every night? Thank you so much! I love your videos.
@deborahmbay65165 жыл бұрын
Cat McGuire APUSH is not bad it’s most people’s first AP class at my school so it’s a great stepping stone, I highly recommend buying an AMSCO book and actually using it AP Calc is not bad if you’re just good at math but I’m not so I would have to work on it a little every night but it’s so doable. And I haven’t taken AP Bio but ik it’s a lot of work but generally they have done pretty well on the exam so it might not be too bad and doubling up on sciences will not be that much of a problem you’ll probably go to bed a little later than other kids but if you work diligently and don’t procrastinate you will be fine and above all trust that God knows what he’s doing even if it’s not fine
@deborahmbay65165 жыл бұрын
Cat McGuire and if you were to drop anything do not drop APUSH it would be a waste. Drop AP Bio
@catmcguire93995 жыл бұрын
Vasu Maru Hello. Thank you for the helpful advice. How many hours on average would you say you spend on APUSH per night? My school requires us to write essays every two weeks; is it the same with yours? Did you take American History 1 and 2 (Exploration up to Cold War) beforehand, and if so, have they made APUSH significantly easier? Again, thank you so much!🙂
@catmcguire93995 жыл бұрын
deb mbay Thank you for your advice. I have a plan set out for me that includes me doubling up on my high school science courses throughout my years there, so dropping AP Bio would mess up my plan very much. Also, when you say that APUSH is a great stepping stone, do you mean that it is easier to do? What’s an AMSCO book (sorry, I’m new to all of this)? Have you taken AP Calc? Thank you so very much.
@deborahmbay65165 жыл бұрын
Cat McGuire by stepping stone I mean it was a good way for people taking regular honor classes to transition into the “Ap world” I am taking AP Calculus rn and I have a natural 88 but I’ll have a natural A by the end of the semester for sure and AMSCO is book for APUSH that my teacher recommended us to get at the beginning of the semester and it has literally been my saving grace my I have a great apush teacher but if I didn’t the Amsco book would be all I needed to take the AP exam you can get it on Amazon for like 18 bucks I think that’s how much I paid for it.
