I really dislike science, I'm actually more of English lover myself. But what you wrote was exceptional and captivating. Never did I think someone could write about science and genuinely interest me, but you did. Your passion for science is unbeknownst to me but so great and personal. So glad you got accepted into Dartmouth, good luck there!

I know that my "why Dartmouth" essay for next year is still in progress but is this good? As I stepped foot onto the ground that accommodated Dartmouth, I immediately fell infatuated with the campus' infinite astounding features. From the library to the biology labs, I quickly realized that I hadn’t felt this connection to another university. As the tour guide showed us around, I couldn’t find any contradictions in the way that I perceived the architecture, education, and the culture that surrounded the Dartmouth community. I love Dartmouth and know that this is where I belong and desire to spend the next four magnificent years of my life.

Stone Johnson it’s a good start! i would recommend losing a few of the adjectives (ones like infinite, magnificent, even astounding) it makes it sound kinda gimmicky and the broadness of those words is impersonal in this context. I would recommend focusing on a few very specific things that made you fall in love with the campus as opposed to the more broad college as a whole. hope this helps!

Kao astrophysics is dope, that’s what I was gearing towards for a few years. i’m most likely going to major in neuroscience or biology w/ a genetics focus (possibility of bioengineering, but we’ll see!)

what's the reason behind going into neuroscience/bio-engineering, is there something specific you plan on doing, or is it something else driving you towards that?

Kao I took a lot of bio-based classes in high school and have written a few research papers that have gotten me really interested in genetic engineering/improving gene therapy accessibility and functionality. + neuroscience is just something that has always intrigued me because of its mystery, intricacies, applications, and focuses on statistics and behavior (+ dartmouth has a really solid neuroscience program). I love all sciences, but i’m attracted to how the work that I could pursue in these biological fields could have a direct impact on people

Isaac Korchenko I applied to dartmouth ed because I think that even if I got into all the other schools that I liked, I would still choose dartmouth. I only applied to dartmouth and two state schools early (mostly bc all the other schools I was gonna apply to were only ed or scea)
