Challenge of the year I hear you say? What can £1 buy you in London UK in 2022?! Today is a shopping trip to the wonderful Poundland to see what we can get for just a quid. A lot more than I thought!!! I think I might try some other stores for £1...where to next??
Thanks for watching, let me know you enjoyed it with subscribing and also give it a thumbs up 👍🏻 💕💌

@@HannahRickettsBut Hannah you really REALLY don’t look like you belong in cheap and nasty Poundland stores buying absolute rubbish disposable junk so i must assume you go in those ghastly places full of smelly dirty peasants just to vlog for Utube views and subscribers to make extra passive income to pay your mortgage or rent in London if you don’t already own a home there. You have a posh accent and look wealthy so please enlighten me as to why you shop with riff raff in discount stores?

We once saw a sort of "challenge" thing for making dinner with things bought at dollar stores. So we did that. I can't remember what all we had now but it was things from a particular dollar type store that doesn't even have a refrigerated section. I seem to recall we had ham with some sort of macaroni dish. At the other end of our city there is a dollar type store that actually has an entire produce section which many dollar places don't have.

I don’t know which dollar store you’ve been to but the dollar stores I’ve been to in California, have a lot of nice name brands, popular name brands, but I also notice in her video, not everything is a popular name brand, just like at a dollar store. But that’s why it says “Dollar”, it’s not like Target or a popular grocery store or a department store with high end name brands

@@JMarieCAlove I'm in Massachusetts - and the stores here are hit and miss. Some are quite good, and others terrible. I don't expect much for $1.25 - but was just commenting on the fact that I saw many more name brands than I see in my local store.

Think I'll pay a visit to poundland - its got to be much cheaper than the Co Op haha. I love this time of year Hannah - the rapid run up to Christmas, I'll be making my cake in a couple of weeks, then lacing it with brandy till the big event. In the meantime I'm feeding an almost tame robin that appears each morning, hopefully I'll be able to keep him going through the dark days of winter x

I love Poundland and also use the on-line equivalent, Cherryz. I bought a USB speaker a few weeks ago for £2.99 in Poundland, and it works perfectly. I tend to buy wrapping paper, bags, sweets/chocolate, cleaning and just occasional bits. Poundland is well worth a browse to pick up a bargain.

Hi Hannah. I really enjoyed this video! I was surprised at how much stuff you can get for 1 pound. I was surprised it was name brand things too, not just cheap knock-offs. I love your extra little commentaries about the other shoppers in the store too. Shopping can be routine sometimes, but not when you do it. You always make it fun! Enjoy your week 😊

Many times I've found that our Dollar stores have odd sizes so it's not much of a deal with some things as you're getting a very odd and smaller size package for a $1.25 (gone are the $1 items at Dollar Tree). So it's good to be aware of that. =) There are the typical Hallmark Autumn movies if you can get them there. Visited Poundland twice when in the UK. Great for candy and reusable London bags to bring home as souvenirs. This past June went to one in Canterbury where we bought a few bits for our Windsor Jubilee Picnic a day or two later, and also got a name brand small backpack b/c I forgot my packable one at the hotel in London (best $4-5 dollars I spent b/c it held all my shopping plus my sweater when it got hot later!) and now I have it to use again!

I haven't seen this yet, I'm saving it for me and the Fam Saturday. I just wanted to comment on your "being there" at Buckingham. I felt, through your photography, that I was there too? The lighting on the memorial out front (Victoria) and the people on it - wow - I haven't even seen in the news I've watched! Captured! It was definitely your Edward R. Murrow moment! Good show!

Hello Hannah! The new plaid jacket is cute on you. The pattern nicely brings out your features. I feel like one can surely get a lot more for a Pound in London than I can get for a Canadian buck in Vancouver! It's quite stunning really, the Pound flirting with parity last week notwithstanding! Chocoholics take note! I'm amazed at how well priced this product is. Peetz Bween phonetically, we used to say, correct me if I'm wrong. Autumn vies for my favorite season.... Poundland is an amazing shop Hannah, I don't know how they do it. Even though some of the pack sizes might be less they still work out cheaper than Tesco etc 5 pack seabrooks crinkle cut crisps £1.00 in Poundland. 6 pack in Tesco £1.35, which actually means Poundland are cheaper. What is nice Hannah is the Mayflower curries they sell. The Beef Curry is very nice. Great place to buy batteries. 30 Panasonic batteries £2 .00, Great for all the items at Christmas. Made me laugh when you were in Starbucks and you said why are the signs so small, That's because they don't want you to see the prices. Have a great weekend and week ahead Hannah Look forward to your next stream Best wishes 👍🏻👍🏻😁

The saying goes . . . “ style is timeless and fashion is only now.” Hanna is the epitome of style. My uncle and his husband ( from England now here in Nova Scotia) had visited when I was watching Hanna’s Christmas content and Colin said “ How posh . . . With an posh accent too.” It was explained to me that it meant ( in this case )Hanna was a beautiful woman who was eloquently spoken. We’ll be watching again this season - the best content of it kind on 75 inches if UHDT. As a side note, why don’t these stores - Harrods, Selfridges etc, pay her to advertise their sales on this channel or perhaps a secondary channel fashioned to short format uploads? Theoretically it could be an IG account anyone out and about could use to make shopping decisions. Loved this one Hanna - on while I wrote, going to watch it again - now.

A Pound equates to around $1.10 US, but y'all get an INSANE amount more--and in much better quality--than we do here in the States in our various dollar stores. I know the Canadian version dollar store has much better quality items than we do here as well. Many of our dollar store items are MADE for the dollar store, they're not simply overstocks or overruns from department or other stores. They're just cheap, chintzy, and low quality, and sold for a dollar. Would love to venture into one of your stores across the ponds!

I just watched your Poundland vlog from a year ago and I had to comment. I love your sense of humor but the best was when you stood in front of your tv as it played your KZbin 4-hour-loop, autumnal jazz cafe. For a moment, I thought you were in another location. Very funny. I do have a suggestion for autumnal viewing- Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant. It drips with so much Halloween atmosphere and it is quite funny. I hope somehow you are able to see this comment. Thanks! Take care.

Hi Hannah, I really enjoy all your videos! Thanks for all those nice places in London. Maybe it’s nice to visit some recordstores in Soho or Notting Hill Gate and browse into some vinyl stuff. Keep on the good work, love your cool British accent. I’m from Holland and for me it’s very valuable to immerse into English. Thks thks! Doozz

I just bought two advent calendars from Amazon that are from UK. You showed one from Poundland. I paid 11.99 for the Cadbury and same for the Nestle white chocolate. I want my little nieces to have them. We buy those readers everytime! Quorn is at Poundland! We pay 5.79 for a bag here. Two patties cost the same. Everythng at dollar tree went to 1.25.
